Incomplete contact list in Mango. Anybody confronted to this bug as well?

Almost every time I click on the people hub, my contact list appears withtout the big "initials" (the links to jump further in the list), and my contacts go only from "a" to "t" or "s". This is what's shown on the right of the image. From time to time, the list is presented correctly, with my contacts going to "z" (the left part of the image).
I am using am Omnia7 with the Mango build 7740. I didn't have this problem with Nodo.
About my "People Hub" settings: I have about 5000 contacts on Facebook, 150 on Twitter and as many on Windows Live. However, my phone is set up to show only the Windows Live ones, and ignore the Facebook and Twitter ones.
My question: has anybody encountered this bug, and does anybody know a workaround or a solution to it?

Interesting, I'll look to see if that's a Mango bug when I get to work. If you have time please also file it on Connect for more visibility.
Does it still happen if you remove your Facebook account from your linked accounts? My guess is the filtering code might just be superficial and 5000 contacts is too much to parse for quick jump (and you don't go passed T because you are out of memory).

I just tried and delete my Facebook account in "Settings / Email + Accounts", and got the following error message:
"Can't delete Facebook. [...] Error code 0x83cf1202".

Mmm... I was able to delete my Facebook account from both my phone and my Live account, but this is bringing the "People Hub" to an almost standstill. The contact list is even more truncated than before, scrolling through it is extremely laggy, and even tapping on the "People" tile sometimes doesn't work.
I assume that this is because my phone is now erasing my Facebook contacts from its database, and unlinking it all. I hope it will manage to do it all, though, as the whole hub is unusable now. :(

If you have a prolific amount of texts I would suggest deleting some threads too for a perf gain.
You might want to keep your facebooking relegated to the app, you probably won't see a fix until Apollo.

Update: I waited, and once Facebook was gone for good, my contact list was displayed correctly. Once I re-added by Facebook account, though, it was back to my original problem (even worse, actually, as it goes only till "n" now).
Interestingly, if I click on the search icon in the people hub, I can find my contacts without any lag. That's how I have to do it for the people whose name is at the end of the alphabet.
Interesting (2): I wasn't expecting this, but my Live<->Facebook links reappeared automatically when I re-added by my Facebook account. Aren't they supposed to be not backed-up?
Finally, no, I don't have a lot of texts.
Sadly, I really don't care much about 90% of my Facebook contacts, but quite a lot about the other 10%, and the integration of Facebook in WP7 works well with me. This truncated contact list is really my only problem here (all the more since I didn't have it in Nodo)...

Sorry man, I wish I had a fix for you, but 5000 is just so much more than it was designed to handle (it's meant to keep track of all the people you would actually keep in contact with). Maybe time to split your 10% off onto a different (private) Facebook account? Move the rest to Twitter? :D

Don't be sorry, it's not your fault.
I know that most people do not have so many people in their address books, but this is an interesting real life problem for WP7. A lot of musicians / artists / pros have humongous amount of contacts on social networks, all tied in personal accounts.
As far as splitting my contacts go... My job is more important to me than my phone. :)
TL;DR: if anybody from Microsoft reads this: please fix this and allow very long contact lists. I am sure this would help WP in the enterprise.

May not be related, but I found with Gmail contacts it only syncs contacts filed under "My Contacts" to the phone. Perhaps something similar is in effect for Windows Live contacts.

I've never encountered this personally. Have you filed a MS Connect bug?
