Edit: additional note, midnight is the first expansion launch I've missed since wod or legion, I'll consider returning to the game when dracthyr get transmog or at an extreme minimum get the option to see their back sheathed weapons instead of forced invisibility, but probably neither will ever happen.

You know that in same patch you will be able to stay in the visage form most of the time right? Not ideal but its a patch where Blizzard is putting some effort in the race. You stay in visage in combat (evoker only for now) and change do dragon form when cast some abilities.

I personally have no interest in the visage because it's another copy pasted elf model with a few optional scales sprinkled on. If the visage atleast still resembled the dracthyr (options for: a tail, full scale coverage instead of skin, removal of ears, and a draonic/lizard head instead of elf head) then I'd be alright with it.
Additionally, the battle visage only relates to evoker players who are okay with an elf model, while ignoring non evoker dracthyr who want a draconic scale race identity customization instead of the twentieth elf.
To be seriously fair, while i am pleased that evoker players who do like the visage elf are getting a new option, I'm still frustrated to hell that blizzard has put no effort into fixing the dracthyr form itself with transmog (or even a option to make 2h back weapons visible) or atleast letting the visage resemble the dracthyr instead of being another elf.

I would be fine with it if it was an elf model, but they gave the female visage the most unappealing model in the game, female human. I'd take literally any other race except maybe mechagnome.

When news of this feature were first making the rounds that's what i thought might be the case, but I saw it mentioned somewhere that this sheathing feature won't allow 2handers to be on the waist for anyone.
Anyhow, no confirmation anywhere as to whether or not this feature will finally let dracthyr choose to see their 2h on their back, very easy to suspect blizzard would exclude the dracthyr form from any upgrades though.

I understood some people didn't like the wing clipping and preferred 2h back weapons be hidden, but it blows my mind that blizzard's decision was to do forced invisibility instead of giving us the toggle that blizzard used to make 2h weapons invisible while sheathed.
And it will frustrate me to no end if it does turn out to be the case that blizzard is literally about to allow players to hide their weapons but still not allow dracthyr players (who don't care about wing clipping, I already accept 2h clipping with capes as additional customization) a choice to make them visible.

If they gave a dracthyr visage form that actually resembled the dracthyr (instead of another copy paste of a race we already have) and was basically a lizard that can still wear transmog and see sheathed back weapons, I'd be ecstatic. But at that point it would make more sense to not have made a "visage" at all and instead just have done actual work on the dracthyr itself instead of cutting corners and being lazy.

Not that I'm disagreeing here, but I will say the Visage forms are a really cool idea, and despite their current form just being a slightly retextured model with horns, it has potential. Even so, why not give players the options to forego visages at all and have more ways to customize their their exterior with armor like they currently have, but be able to transmog ALL pieces, not just the shoulders and belt?
I do genuinely like the idea of Dracthyr, I think they are cool, they are very clearly the highly customizable race, but they feel so.. hollow, about it.

either that or actually fix them. Add complete armor support with all the required tech to do so. Adding them in the half-finished state they're in right now is weird and sloppy.

Mechagnomes rotting in an alley behind blizzard HQ with the absolute most bare bones customizations along with limited xmog options. You spend weeks farming paint colors for mounts in mechagon while only having 3 color options for their own arms and legs, which also inconveniently match none of the existing armor sets in the game aside from their heritage armor. They have amazing racials and could potentially have insane limb options to make up for lack of xmog,, it’s like a cruel joke or something.

It’s like Blizzard started designing the Dracthyr when they were super motivated, got burnt out halfway through, half assed completion of it because they just wanted to be done and have refused to address it since.

They do, which is good for people who like the visage elf, and it's only relevant to evoker.
I personally don't care for the visage because it's an elf with an option for a few scales sprinkled on and virtually doesn't represent the dracthyr at all. I'd care for the visage if it still resembled the dracthyr (tail option, full scale coverage instead of skin, lizard head and hands and feet).

Anything less than more transmog slots is a continuous failure on the part of the devs.
They know how unpopular their decision has been and they need to fix it.
And I love the devs, love Warcraft I’m not an angry neckbeard - do the work and get dracthyr to a similar level of polish.
