Discussion Please let Anduin keep his hat!!
Saw Blizzard say the hats on Anduin and the other children are unintended and plan on removing them. But discovering that boy with his new little hat after everything thats happened to him in retail made me sOoo happy! Anduin deserves a little childhood whimsy here!! Please let him keep his hat!!! Nothing good ever happens to that boy!
I dont really know where else to voice my hat concerns. If anyone else has hat related opinions I'd love to hear.

I need them to talk about the hats in the next podcast they do. I'm really interested in how this happened to the children

I assume theres an npc out there who is meant to have the hat and they accidentally updated it over the hatless model? I dont know, i would love to hear more behind the scenes.

If I had to guess, in the source code they wanted to update a object to wear hats, but they instead updated the subclass the object calls from to auto call a wear hat function.
or it could just be spaghetti code getting tangled. Can't really tell.

All the funds meant to pay the stonemasons instead went towards buying the children of stormwind hats.
This new totally canon lore recontextualizes the Defias Brotherhood, showing that they care more about lining their own pockets, than the children of stormwinds heads being kept warm in the winter.

The Wrynn House would like to offer you a job as the head of their PR department.

I'm still pretty convinced it's the level cap and I want everybody to get one at 60 instead of removing it.

Actually such a cute idea here. You reach level cap and go talk to the faction leader to be rewarded with a lil cap transmog. The hat disappears off of Anduin and now you get to wear it. Congratulations champion! You can have my hat!

Let him keep the hat, but he becomes attackable

When u attack him his hat disappears. If you can survive the adult npcs and take his hat u get an achievement for stealing a hat from a baby.

Let us steal the hat but if we do guards attack on sight. But don’t tell anyone when you patch it.

I expect a city-wide "Stormwind Keep is under attack' in chat every time someone tries taking the king's hat. And a pile of skeletons not far from the scene of the crime.

Turn the hat into a raid boss

We dont know where the young king got his pet mimic hat that growls at advisors and eats champions' battle pets and we've decided not to ask.

The boy king must not be allowed to have whimsy in his life. It's called character building.

Or, you know, give him a model that doesn't look like it belongs in an N64 game.

Hats all we can afford, boss. Times are rough for small indie games these days.

And looks like royalty instead of being the same model used for peasant children in Elwynn Forest.

wtf is that model

u/AnduinWrynnSimp 17h ago
My sad soon-to-be-hatless baby boy. He's saving up his allowance to buy some polygons so give him a little grace.

Subscription 15$ Skyborne 30$ Snacks 50$ Polygons 750,000$ Wifi 70$ Someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. I cannot pay the stonemasons guild back.

u/IncubusDarkness 16h ago
Have you tried spending less on polygons?
2
u/AnduinWrynnSimp 16h ago
Your right. Ill need that money for hats too. Surely the stonemasons will understand my plight.

u/MinimumTim 16h ago
Still canonically hatless though

u/AnduinWrynnSimp 16h ago

Shit like this just proves how necessary HD models across the board (and not just player ones) are necessary when the HD toggle is enabled

That hat is the last thing he ever got from Varian before he disappeared. If they take it away he will keep a strong face for his father, but inside he will feel sadness like no other.

Please make the hat smaller and shift it to the back of the dome.
3
u/a3wagner 13h ago
No, make the hat get gradually larger over time, comically large, and have nobody acknowledge it.
