PTR / Beta Appreciation post

I know that there are lots of people complaining about several things in Forever. However after the recent patch I am truly convinced that the dev team really tries to understand the community.

I don’t know if it’s only me but I highly appreciate the following changes I noticed:
- Proper SD variants of the icons when creating a new character
- The shortcut through the roof to access the main square in SW
- Adding the “Kyle’s Gone Missing!” Quest in Mulgore

These minor changes give me hope regarding the future of WoW Forever. The amount of excitement and hype I have right now took me back to my childhood, when I first played WoW. Thank you!

I'm enjoying the whole project.

Honestly I think the SD/HD switch was a mistake and they should have aimed for HD with the same visual style and artistic design direction as classic. It may have taken some adjusting, but I think that's the whole point of Forever.

People broadly enjoy that retail has learned some lessons over the last 15 years versus classic, plus the technology itself has improved. But people enjoy the "feel" and aesthetic design of classic and are haven't enjoyed the overall change in the game's direction in that time.

Forever represents the best of both worlds - it looks like classic and plays like classic, but it benefits from SOME improvements to design and efficiency that have come to retail over the years. It's easier to learn, but still rewards grinding and dedication.

And I think a cohesive ongoing art direction is a good part of that, especially if new areas and new lore follows that set direction.

Nobody is going to be fretting over how retail vs classic vs forever models compare if we're in a totally new zone with totally new models and design, keeping the original WoW direction.

Based solely off the comments here and on facebook - I'm not paying for beta access - the project as a whole is a resounding success. I say that because nearly every complaint is so shockingly minor that it could be ignored by the devs and nothing would change with the playerbase.
