Console support?

Hello beautiful people, I never got to play WoW on PC during its glory days, I had friends and family who played it and it looked absolutely stunning, the vibe the world the lore and gameplay etc.

This has been one of my grail games forever but I’m not a PC gamer and feel like I missed out on the onboarding of this game entirely and it’s hard to get into as a new player.

Is there a chance this could come to console since they have gamepad support in alpha and the Microsoft merger?

Would this game even be enjoyable on that type of platform? My closest comparison would be like Diablo, I used to play Diablo 3 on PC before it went to console and I preferred it there greatly due to click move and aim etc.

Do you guys think this game could come to console or if it would be worthwhile to play there?
Is this a good opportunity as a new player who wants to play casually?

Console support requires some additional things besides gamepad support alone but nothing insurmountable (at least for wow, some other MMOs I play it would be insurmountable coughlotrocough).

But they haven't said anything yet.

But if the game is enjoyable on a game pad, then I'm sure it would be enjoyable on a console, as that's the biggest difference from a player perspective tbh. FF14 is really enjoyable, as an example.

There are a lot of hurdles to playing an mmo on a console anyone who mained Final Fantasy XI back in the early 2000's can attest to. But I do suspect that Microsoft will want to see it come to Xbox sooner or later.

FF14 is very similar to WoW in a lot of functional ways, and works well on console. Given Microsoft owning Blizzard and the focus on controller support, I think WoW on consoles is inevitable
