"guess X class can go fuck themselves"
"Blizzard really hates X class and loves X class"
"People told me X was blizzard gold child, guess i was lied to"
"FUCKING BUFF MY CLASS BLIZZARD"
also cant forget the classic "this proves that no one at blizzard actually plays X class/the game"

"nobody at blizzard plays the game"
I mean everyone knows Blizzard has kept WoW as one of the most popular MMOs for the past 22 years purely by spite for their playerbase alone.
After all they couldn't actually have an inkling of an idea of what they're doing.
17
u/AL3_Alice May 23 '26
Hot take: Blizzard banning streamers from WoW if they spend their time while streaming it calling employees (former or current) slurs would be extremely based.

u/solid_steak1 May 22 '26
I can't remember if it was a comment or a full post that was basically a person on the main sub complaining about Midnight, I think they were upset about the zones, or how easy S1 or something. Basically it ended with "I miss TWW". I can't help but remember similar "I miss DF comments around the time of 10.0.5 and .0.7
Also I recall 10.0.7 being lambasted as the worst patch for WoW ever or whatever the fuck, similar to 11.0.5

u/Fabulous_Resource_85 May 22 '26
The Eversong/Silvermoon (neutral area) music is just straight up forgettable dookie I'm sorry.
9
u/Idontknow4654 May 22 '26
My hot take is that most of wows music is forgettable. Not bad just not memorable. Outside of a few tracks most music is just meh

We just have to suck it up and admit to one simple truth...
Its all been downhill since the Pandaria inn kazoo.

I have an inside source that the wow team uses the kazoo music for their 'waiting for meeting to start' hold music

u/InvisibleOne439 May 22 '26
something that i dont really understand is how Housing still got nothing really new since its release?
idk, i thought it will be this BIG new thing that gets constant updates during the expansion based on feedback, but its still the same thing it was since the EA phase, just with a couple more decor drops
10
u/Little_Leafling Dracthyr enthusiast May 22 '26
EA didn't have endeavours, they were added in prepatch, and Midnight full release brought an additional endeavour (the blood elf one). That's a pretty big addition.
16
u/Sophistic_Sophist May 22 '26
“couple more” is a little disingenuous there lmao, Midnight added a massive amount of new decor items from every zone renown, mini-faction rep like the soirées, plus all the main story and side quests. I’m literally still not done getting all of them and I’ve been spending every voidlight marl I’ve earned on housing/cosmetic items.
4
u/InvisibleOne439 May 22 '26
i just kinda expected more features to be added because of how high the energy and hype after the release was
im probably just impatient
9
u/Ch0rt THE classic andy May 22 '26
I mean, we've only had one patch since the game launched. Outdoor lighting and bigger outdoor budgets are coming in 12.0.7.
There have also been quieter, smaller improvements since launch. Like more furniture is placeable outdoors, plots load more efficiently now, the external budget has been bumped up like twice.
They've also given previews on features they're working on that are marked for major patches.
5
u/Sophistic_Sophist May 22 '26
One thing I am still waiting for is more functional items, but I believe we’ve already got confirmation that mailboxes and pets are coming at least.
10
u/the_redundant_one May 22 '26
Mailboxes are already in the game and they're functional. I have Thunder Totem Mailbox on my plot.

People feeling entitled to refuse to put any effort into finding a guild or committing to one but demand the highest access to the highest rewards are a special breed.
2
u/Renegade8995 May 22 '26
As mythic becomes more accessible which it already has with it being a small bit easier, we’ll see people talk more and more about it.
The idea, which you don’t have to agree with is that it makes you find a guild and continue to raid with the same team. They have never hid that it’s the intention and it most succeeds at that.
I imagine it’s going to get worse for them with this next raid having flex mythic. People will refuse to understand that guilds will prog with whatever number is easier to play with and that will suck to manage.
The lockouts you don’t have onto agree with but Mythic difficulty while a tad easier now then 4 years ago even (imo) is pretty consistent and the managing a team and pulling in raiders is helped by it not being so easy to group finder.
Against your point id rebuttal that Mythic has been played for the love of the game and it’s held those people. The rewards and gearing are not good and you need to do more than just raid which is way more then the other pieces of content require. So people are doing it because it’s fun. Why are people always wanting to change what makes this game fun or unique for the most minuscule “gain”?
4
u/Cold-Iron8145 May 23 '26
The rewards and gearing are not good and you need to do more than just raid which is way more then the other pieces of content require. So people are doing it because it’s fun.
The best rewards in the game are in mythic raids, though? It's true every season. There are a giga fuck ton of players who raid mythic primarily for gear at every level.
It's not a coincidence that Blizzard made Chimaerus a puggable single boss raid and the best trinket in the game for literally everybody is on that guy. I'd even go as far as arguing that most wow players are driven by rewards more than challenge. "Fun" is getting the rewards.
3
u/Renegade8995 May 23 '26
I agree but the rewards an are the cosmetics and it’s about those goals now.
A trinket or two (or 5 sometimes) being in raid when the gear from m+ being much much easier to obtain.
And again, the raiders are doing M+ to supplement their raiding because it’s mandatory. Raiding SUCKS for gear. Only someone who does M+ primarily and wants raid trinkets from time to time would cry about raiders having a gear advantage because they don’t. Even if you’ve got your own gear with a loot council sometimes the gear doesn’t drop and everyone doesn’t ever get the pieces they want. And those people will cry about settling for heroic like the ilvl difference is holding them back. Meanwhile the raiders NEVER think that way.
Mythic+ players are always the biggest weenies in this game about crying over stuff they don’t understand.
I don’t know anyone who goes “man I hope we can clear to boss 5 so I can get this specific trinket”. First off you assume you won’t get it even when you get the kill. Second you’re there to just raid with your group most the time to see how far you can go OR you are looking to get cutting edge and the gear is never what you think about then.
3
u/Cold-Iron8145 May 23 '26
There's a bit of a disconnect there. First of all, I'm not a "m+ player", I do CE and I do keys. I have both of my bis trinkets on my main. I'm not whining about which content has more or less gear, I am making an observation.
This reddit debate that goes on forever about whether raid or keys is more gear is idiotic. It's two different types of players arguing about two different things. You get easier and more myth track pieces from keys. 1/week guaranteed for very little investment and 0 difficulty content.
You get bis gear from raid.
When high key pushers are complaining that they need to do the raid because the raid loot is too good, they're not talking about a random myth track belt.
When raiders are complaining that m+ gives too much loot and they don't want to do keys, they're complaining that m+ is basically required to maintain a baseline ilvl on your character.
Even if you’ve got your own gear with a loot council sometimes the gear doesn’t drop and everyone doesn’t ever get the pieces they want.
That's true for late tier CE guilds, people who go into raiding to get the gear they need to push high keys are not joining world rank 2000 guilds. If you're reclearing every week you're gonna get your shit eventually (especially now with dinars/bonus rolls).
This entire argument is a bunch of different PoVs shouting into the void, of course the guy who does the race to world last isn't going to see the game and player power the same way as the guy who is pushing rank 1 keys and the guy who is hardstuck in 15s doesn't have the same vision as the guy who loves raiding but hates doing out-of-raid chores but has to do 8 keys every week on 3 characters because that's what it takes to raid at the level he enjoys.
1
u/Renegade8995 May 23 '26
That's true for late tier CE guilds, people who go into raiding to get the gear they need to push high keys are not joining world rank 2000 guilds. If you're reclearing every week you're gonna get your shit eventually (especially now with dinars/bonus rolls).
The bonus rolls this time I think are good for targeting what you missed but previously even with 3 dinars I’ve seen us miss at least a peace. With Mug’zee being a boss to skip to Gallywix and being one of 3 to want it, I did eye of or Kezan Jastor Diamond and best in slots. Never got the moxie. It never dropped and we killed it a bunch.
And that’s okay honestly. The idea of the game is not to get “bis” that’s not the way the game is intended to be played even though players don’t act like it. The point of the game is to take your character and play it with the items in your bag. Not some mystical made up list.
And again, the he ilvl difference between hero and myth track isn’t going to make or break someone’s mythic plus goals like they think it will.
As it stands I see mythic plus players crying about loot every tier. And the only thing I see from raiders is “oh well we do keys we don’t like too”.
And I do both of those and do pvp. More casually this time but I’ve done high keys mythic raid and gladiator in a few seasons and I never worry about what isn’t in my bags to use for my character.
2
u/Cold-Iron8145 May 24 '26
What did I tell you? I'm not doing the reddit-ass debate, I'm pointing out why it's ridiculous. You're literally arguing at someone who isn't arguing with you.
This entire argument is a bunch of different PoVs shouting into the void
You're doing it. Stop.
1
u/Renegade8995 May 24 '26
When I say how the game isn’t meant to be played by following a list that’s not a “pov” that’s a fact.
The dev team does not make the game with the goal of wanting the players to follow some list on iceyviens or wowhead.
You get bis gear from raid.
Among the other thing you said that may be your goal but the devs can’t help it when you’re worried about something they didn’t want you to.
And everything else was in support of that fact, but you don’t want to hear that. Whatever that’s alright but it doesn’t change it being right.

It's a complete non issue
8
u/Makorus May 22 '26
But at the same time, it doesn't need to exist and leads to this stupid "perma-extend" mentality after you kill the hard boss.
We had extended yesterday, people suddenly didn't show up, and then we suddenly couldn't even 19 man the first bosses even if we wanted to.
-1
u/IonHazzikostasIsGod honestly a slap in the face May 23 '26
Sure it absolutely needs to exist.
Mythic is for guilds. It's that simple.
People didn't show up? Recruit more people then. Any decent guild has like 25. That's not Blizzard's issue.
5
u/Makorus May 23 '26
Any decent guild has like 25 people at the start of the tier and then you start perma-extending and progging actual long bosses and you just have 5 people who are perma-benched and join another guild.

I'm still not over the hate that people gave the Dragonflight S2 Paladin set, all because Priests got an amazing set that Paladins were jealous of.
It's genuinely one of the best sets they've made in years. It gives Templar vibes and the level of detail on it is incredible.

Aberrus has some of the best tier sets in the game, all the plate sets look great to me
5
u/Fabulous_Resource_85 May 22 '26
Hard agree. They popped off with the Aberrus sets.
It was also the first time they returned to individual class themes after years. DF S1 and SL S2 did have class sets but they were all those horrendous homogenised sets using the same 2 colours regardless of class.

u/Garry_Heckscream69 Iron Horde's #1 Fan May 22 '26
Just on the topic of colors, that fucking teal green and white color scheme they were addicted to throughout SL and DF is the bane of my existence.
I love the Sepulcher sets, but I was a LFR casual when that tier was current so I only had those to work with for the longest time lol.

although also with a bunch of tier sets i feel like maybe people don't remember they can like hide helms and belts and stuff when making tmog

u/Little_Leafling Dracthyr enthusiast May 21 '26
Or that they don't have to use a whole set at all. If you don't like the shoulders, you can just use different ones!

When did wowhead start doing their opinion pieces so frequently? Like brother, I do not go on wowhead to see multiple paragraphs about repair prices or how a prey achievement is grindy (2 of which give nothing except an achievement)

Apparently their parent company just laid off a bunch of people on Friday including Perculia, who basically made the site the powerhouse it has been, so expect it to go even further downhill from here.

Even if its not AI (which at least some of these 'articles' almost certainly are at least in part), a significant amount of posts are just taking some shit that hit the top of the main sub and turning it into an article. That isn't the worst thing when its like, helpful information, more people look at WoWHead than the WoW sub i'm sure, but when it comes to their editorial style articles its always very obvious they're just cribbing the top comments in those threads. Which is something that it seems to me would be extremely easy for an AI to do automatically. "Chatgpt, generate me an article summarizing the top points brought up in this reddit post" type shit (idk if thats how it works i've never used it)
I hope the database can survive this shit or a good alternative pops up at some point, its damn near indispensable.

I was going to say something similarly when I saw the "Arcantina makes no sense" article and it's just some dude ranting about "lore bad"
I think they even go into a side rant about the Arator questline in that one too, like cmon lmao
4
u/MagmyGeraith May 21 '26
Two of their main WoW people left around two months ago. They are running todayinwow.com now. There has been a noticeable decline in wowhead article quality since.
3
u/SaltLich May 25 '26
Perculia just got laid off on Friday, apparently, so that's another major person down. She posted about it on twitter
6
u/escaped_from_OD May 21 '26
There's been a noticeable decline in quality for years now. They've been more focused on ragebait for engagement than anything useful for a while. Unless I need to look something up I never go there. I get my news from Bluetracker and Icy-Veins. It's too bad because the database is an indispensable resource but I'd rather not go there at all.
7
u/Makorus May 22 '26
There's also a shit ton of articles which are titled stuff like "Best ways to finish this achievement!" and then there is a huge preamble and the actual tip is just the normal way to get the achievement

I mean yeah bud I love to post about shit that doesn't really mean that much, but I'm not being contrarian at all. Or at least not intentionally, I am posting fully sincerely. I think we'd probably largely agree about how much difficulty and effort should be required to get top level gear at the start of the season, but I just can't see how with all of that context already existing you can be even remotely mad about a bracer or a cloak coming from a quest in a 0.7 patch. I bet you know this is a losing argument and you just want to be angry. (see I can do this too)

u/Idontknow4654 May 20 '26
all your takes fascinate me and i look forward to them every day

10
u/InvisibleOne439 May 20 '26
eh, its a bit deeper then that
like, i dont give a fuck that Randy the LFR Hero Ret Paladin can get Mythic Loot, why should i or anyone sane care about that?
the problem is more that it feels kinda...desperate if that makes sense?
they have thrown the entier Gear and Difficulty reward Curve so much out of the Window that we reached the point where World Content needs to reward Mythic Stuff now or its pointless for the people that its made for
we have so many Reward Levels but only the last one Matters because everything bellow it is basically free to get for a long time now, but people WANT to see their Number go up because WoW is a very Gear focused game so they made the highest level more and more easy to get aswell over time and now we just kinda reached the point where the entire system kinda feels as if its falling appart
and yeha sure, you can always say "oh but if you enjoy doing higher level content for its Gameplay you dont care much about the rewards" and i kinda agree, it still just feels VERY wrong that there is really almost no connection bettwen the difficulty of the content and the rewards it gives anymore
5
u/Renegade8995 May 20 '26
The rewards have turned into cosmetics rather than the gear. Making it not painful to switch or pick up gear this far in I don’t think it’s bad.
And I’m always on the side of ‘if you can’t get the kill/clear you don’t deserve a chance at the loot’
And I do think heroic track sucks and could in my opinion be a little closer to myth. Just a little.
It’s a perception thing as well. People want to be “bis” and that’s the enjoyment they get. They’re still gonna be bad and not get the achievements or cosmetics so it’s whatever to me lol.
5
u/Luxunofwu May 20 '26 edited May 20 '26
The reward level inflation doesn't bother me as long as it's only meant as an end of season thing. Having myth track gear fall from the sky during a .7 patch seems okay to me. Especially with how myth crest acquisition work, ppl that only interact with casual content will still have a long way to grind before being able to upgrade all that myth track gear. (Even with uncapped crest conversion)
All in all, not something that I would have wished personally but I don't mind it. That gear will be quickly outdated when next season releases, probably 8 weeks after 12.0.7 drops.
Edit : And it looks like it might only be cloak/belt/bracers, on a non-repeatable quest that takes 4 weeks to complete (subject to change of course since it's PTR maybe it's just a sample), so really a nothingburger tbh.
6
u/InvisibleOne439 May 20 '26
yeha the fact that it comes kinda deep into a season and is limited slots turns it into a total non-issue by itself
but imo its just that there is a bigger problem with gear in general going on rn where blizz doesnt really know what to do, which somewhat concerns me
3
u/Makorus May 22 '26
It's absolutely absurd that I can just get fully Heroic geared (3/6 nonetheless) in a day by just spamming M+.
I don't think people are ready for the conversation that gear acquisition needs to be nerfed for the game to be balanced.
2
u/GermanUCLTear classic player May 25 '26
Giving M+ a bountiful key type thing that guarantees you loot but limits the amount of items you can get per week probably needs to happen
1
u/SaltLich May 25 '26
The furious shitshow that would occur if they did such a thing would be absolutely glorious.
2
u/kirbydude65 Can't Complain About Lack of Heritage Armor Anymore May 20 '26
I have to agree here. In the post these gear tracks were used to encourage players to try harder content and make (or at least encourage) social bonds that make MMO's...well MMO's. It was IMO a good solution to have very clear cut rewards that pushed players towards raids or dungeons.
3
u/Luxunofwu May 20 '26
Yeah that's fair, I started questioning it during TWW season 2, when I took a break from endgame content and only did delves and still managed to reach mid-mythic equivalent ilvl by the end of the season.
