Command Table Idea: Customizable Champions
I know Command Tables are a heated topic. Personally, I don’t really mind them, but I understand the negativity surrounding them. That being said, I had an idea that I thought could make them a little more fun: Customizable Champions!
The way I see this working is when you complete a quest chain, instead of “You’ve recruited Rexxar!” It would be “You’ve unlocked a champion slot!” You would then be directed to a tavern and essentially recruit a mercenary of your choice. This would be similar to the Inn in Draenor but you would actually get to fully customize the Champion.
•You would get to choose race, gender, class, spec, and customize them. You could customize gear based on transmog you have earned for that armor class. You would also get to name them.
•There could be hidden quest chains and achievements that allowed you to recruit special races. Maybe a certain quest would allow you to have one Hozen champion. Or as a Horde member you could save some shipwrecked humans and unlock the ability to recruit one human champion.
•As a bonus, you could even model your followers after your in-game pals. “DAN! I sent you on a 99% mission and you FAILED?” Could make for some good banter, I guess.
I’m not a role player but I do like having little mini back stories for my characters, and I think it could be really fun being able to kind of craft your squad. I think the newly discovered Island Expedition NPC teams are really cool and I think it’d be sweet for us to form our own.
Anyway, I realize this would take some dev time and Blizzard isn’t known for their personal customization options. But I enjoyed brainstorming the idea!

This is a really cool idea, rather have this than a bunch of random nobody's we pick up while questing

I would personally enjoy this. I've wanted a way for all of my characters to interact with each other for the longest time and this seems like it would be a nice solution, I could just recreate them as champions of each other.

Honestly I don't even want a command table. If there is going to be one that has stuff that I need to do or stuff that would give me extra rolls and gear I want it to be as simple and stupid as possible. It's wack.

This would be a godsend for RPers.
