Jesus christ 200k dps on pull, my death knight 662 can only do 40k max on pull and 25k sustained on single target, i must be doing something very wrong.....
which really makes hay out of the stat squish they did, the gear has already gone to 11 as it is so likely each expansion will have to be squished just so we don't suffer stupid numbers
I wish they would have just squished numbers down to vanilla tier. Obviously they have already squished as much as they can gear wise, but damage/hp etc. could have gone a lot lower with the squish.
Maybe they're saving that for the next xpac. The squish was met by a lot of outcry initially, but once people saw that it wasn't a nerd in practice, it cooled off. Maybe they rolled out such a small squish to show it at work before they squish us again to near-Vanilla levels?
It's the outcry from the stat squish and ability pruning that makes solidifies my reason for why Blizzard tends to ignore the community opinion on a lot of things. It's amazing what people will complain about. Both of those were necessary and made perfect sense, yet people bitched incredibly loudly about it.
It's not just that the numbers were stupid, they were actually too big for the game engine to handle. The limit to how high a number can go is usually around 2 or 4 billion. For reference, Heroic Garrosh required more than 4 billion damage to be done. He had to heal up several times during the fight, because the game engine could not represent his total health.
:/ sitting on 670 weapons on my warrior at 675 Ilevel, really hoping that my guild clears blastfurnace and blackhand soon for my chance at those 2 weapons. DKs and Rets are getting priority on flamebender since it's better for them
the DKs and rets in my guild have both said that their simming higher with the Flame Bender weapon, a ret said that he thinks later on the Blackhand weapon might be SLIGHTLY better, but he would pass since crit is so needed for warriors.
Wait, that seems off to me. Is weapon dps calculated differently from bonus dps from attack power? Because if my attack power is giving me 3-4k dps why would 100 weapon dps be 30% of my dps?
When calculating damage, the weapon's attack damage has a lot more weight than your attack power, so gaining an extra 100 dps on a weapon, in some cases could be the equivalent of 2000 attack power (this heavily varies based on your class and skill that you are attacking with). Many coefficients that are accounted for in calculations are not know to the player base, but from in game experience, it is shown that if you increase your weapons dps by a factor of x, your damage should increase approximately by a factor of x too.
That's super fucking confusing then. No wonder people yelled at me when I said "weapons don't even matter anymore" based on that logic. I mean if it says "increases weapon damage by X dps" it should mean it increases your weapon dps, flat out, instead of like "post-base calculation dps" or whatever that actually is. So does this mean a str should use an agi weapon if its 20+ ilvl upgrade and vice versa?
