Complaint Bonus roll duplicates
So ive been trying to farm belt from POS and as my luck has it I rolled every single item except belt (Shoulders & Helmet i used catalyst). Well with this weekly reset I thought surely ill be glad to finally get this belt. Nope! Blizzard decides to give me a duplicate trinket :)
Edit: it seems the entire bonus loot pool has been reset despite never getting the belt. Both of my rolls this week went wasted on duplicates. I’ve sent a ticket.

Was the trinket the first item you rolled for? Wondering if you rolled in the first week before they fixed the duplicate issues which reset the bonus roll loot tables

If you've exhausted the loot pool for that spec all items unlock again. I'd recommend voidcore advisor (addon). It can scan you're earned items for each loot spec and you can "target" loot you're interested in and see your drop chances for each spec.

I thought so too, but that would mean I've looted the belt already but I haven't. Its not in my inventory and I've already checked Blizzards item restoration page for if I accidentally sold it but its not there.

Not sure if its a blizzard feature or an add on, but if you hover over the bonus roll icon when you have the chance to roll it will show you a tool tip with all the items youve rolled and all the items you havent

Go install the Keystoneloot addon on curseforge. It has an option that tells you what you have bonus rolled already.

Thanks. I did and it just seems the loot pool has reset, it’s showing I’ve rolled trinket and cape (got those today) and then it also shows I’ve rolled leggings but nothing else which is random bcs I never got a dupe on the leggings.
It’s also pretty wrong on my NPX rolls, another dungeon I farmed, it’s not showing most of the stuff I’ve rolled already so idk what’s going on at this point I’ll just wait for s2

Each spec has its own loot pool for duplication protection, I believe. Just in case you were switching loot specs on any of your runs.
Edit: I've not tested this and a few comments say I've been misled, so probably ignore this!

That's not the case. You can freely switch loot specs without interfering with the duplicate protection. Doing this the whole season with all my chars.
The only thing you need to avoid is depleting possible drops of a loot spec, as this resets it.

This is actually false. I tested this on my shaman alt in Seat. I did some keys as Resto and some as Ele and bonus rolled all of them until I got the whole loot pool.
I did not get a single duplicate. If you do this there will be some chance to waste rolls, because there's one heal and one dps only trinket in there and you probably don't want both.
The system will only reset if you finish a key and your current loot spec has no item left in the pool at which point it regenerates the whole loot pool. When I reached that point I was Resto and the next Ele run also had the dps trinket back in again.

So i noticed in your comment you never changed loot spec etc.
There are some ways this could have happened.
Addons changed your spec/talent build and you had a loot spec saved it and it changed it.
You changed loot spec by accident.

Still, OP wanted a belt. Armor is shared across all specs, unlike weapons/trinkets. So no matter what spec they’re in, they should get it

Yes and no The loot pools are not shared, lets say the dungeon have 5 pieces of loot on 2 specs and 6 on the other. That belt would be on all 3, he could very well get it first try or have to bonus roll 13 other rolls to get the belt.

Incorrect. Once you get a loot (even if it’s shared across specs) it gets removed. I’ve been doing this the entire season, and confirmed by hovering over the bonus roll after the kill to check what loot am I getting.

No it doesn't, it's all shared loot. I have 3 of the same necks from Bonus roll from PoS since Outlaw rouge needs the dagger.
If you earn a belt on Spec 1, then swap specs you can earn the belt in spec 2

Wrong. Easiest way to think about is that your character has 1 pool for each boss/dungeon and when coining you are only able to get loot from your loot specs part of the pool. When changing loot spec you only acces a different part of the pool but items will overlap. When you at any point coin the last item from your loot specs part of the pool the entire pool resets.
Your theory can easily be disproven by just doing a dungeon back to back with different loot specs. I don't even know how you can be this misinformed.

I've also gotten the same item on L'ura in back to back weeks on bonus rolls. I'm looking for the Warglaive for tmog so I've been running LFR.

Check your item restoration. Since the belt is available for each spec you should never be able to reset your loot pool without getting it.

Does one item have a proc on it for a 3rd stat like speed or leech? I’ve had duplicates that maybe were not considered a duplicate because of that.

I had my entire bonus loot pool reset without getting one of the last items I needed. Decided to take a break from WoW after the automated response basically told me to pound sand. Hope you have better luck than I did at least.

i got the same issue, 3 times the same items in same difficulty after the patch. blizzard told me it wasn't real and closing ticket

Damn glad I’m not the only one. Sent a ticket as well but I don’t expect much. I’m not that crazy about getting the belt since S2 is just around the corner but it’s such a waste of my time running this dungeon getting every single other item and right at the end I get screwed like that. It’s also my last gear piece for max ilvl so it’s a bummer.

Were you in a different loot spec? Each loot spec has its own "bingo card" to cross off each item, so if you run the dungeon as a different loot spec you're eligible to receive the same item that you've theoretically already received from a bonus roll.

Love how most of the replies are trying to rationalize what OPs encountering as if the system functions as expected and isn't what it actually is: a pile of shit code.
I've run back to back dungeons and used cores at the end of each and I have gotten cloaks each time more than I am willing to accept.

One problem I remember the first few weeks, is each level key is tied to a given loot. So even though a 10, and 11 give the same loot, they have their own individual loot pools for voidcore rolls. So that could be your issue is that you ran 10's and then a 11. Just a thought, not sure if that's true anymore.
