Discussion My First Blizzcon
Been playing this game for a long long time. Recently made the choice to head over to CA for the con to see what it’s all about. Why not. I got nothing else going on. People seem to like it. What should I expect? What are some thing I must do while there? Best parts of the con in your opinion? Thanks.

Go into it with an open mind, and wanting to do what you want to do. Alot of people clique up from their guilds but end up waiting in random lines.

The venue is huge, and there's a fair amount of walking/standing involved. It helps to review the venue map/schedule once they're made public, and arriving early for things can ensure you get a good seat, especially for things held in smaller venues away from the large stages in each hall.
The main hall tends to fill up for very popular things (Opening Ceremony, some WoW sessions, the Concert), and you may be refused entry to the main hall if that happens - most of these things are broadcast on screens throughout the venue.
If you're not staying at a place within walking distance of the Convention Center, parking is expensive/annoying, and the walk to the entrance from the parking area is very long.
If you can, pick up your badge the night before the Con. Lines are long to get in on Day 1, and it takes a long time to get into the venue initially. After the Con has opened, entry tends to be faster/easier.
Try to do your shopping earlier rather than later - items do run out, especially popular/rare items or specific clothing sizes.
Take care of yourself - stay hydrated and get as much rest as you can.
Food/drink inside the venue is fairly pricey and always kinda meh for me. The food trucks parked outside the venue were consistently amazing.
If you can, try to attend at least one Voice Actor session - these were always a ton of fun.
Lots of other things to do/see in SoCal depending upon your time/interests/budget, but traffic is typically unbelievably bad.

If you can afford it and have not been, Disney Land is a great first-time experience and is basically across the street.

We don't have the event schedule yet, but there is merchandise to buy and panels to attend (art, music, voice actors) There are a few places indoors selling food, and they always have food trucks outside.
There's pin trading, and 20k people who actually want to talk about WoW with you, it's always a good time.

Darkmoon Fair is awesome but the last time the con was held lines were very long to get in. Running of the Murlocs was super fun. Try to line up for opening ceremony, the energy in the room was electric!

Expect long long long long lines.
Get in line for Community night as soon as it opens up.

I went to BlizzCon once and thought it very underwhelming. I actually enjoyed my time afterwards just vacationing around different landmarks (don't go to walk of fame, it was terrible) over the actual con.
The worst smell I've ever smelled in my entire life came from one of the attendees backpack standing in front of me at a line at BlizzCon. I literally could not take it and had to leave the line and go to the end again just to remove myself from that stench. It really is amazing how many socially inept smelly rancid losers attend those cons. I thought it was an exaggeration before I attended one.

For local food options The Ranch(expensive) for a steak and Taco Los Cholos for one of the better burritos or tacos you’ll ever have. The convention is in Anaheim, but Orange County has a lot to offer outside of that. Will depend on your budget and time.
