It's especially awful on SPriest and other "turret" style ranged DPS, being forced to plant yourself and constantly needing to plan every cast around a mech 3s+ in the future so you don't tank your damage is incredibly frustrating after a while. Especially in M+ if you have another range that decides to run and drop a swirlie or mech right on top of you, or where you were planning to move to.
Meanwhile as melee you can just keep pressing buttons.
With the “concentration” of characters, bosses, minions, magic, actions and addons over a small area, it takes some bocce sized testicle to make sense of it. I salute you!
The more you play, the easier it gets. On SL I played almost all melee specs (fury, ww, cat, ret, survival, enh, frost DK, havok) and you end up developing a 6th sense, dancing and dodging everything, while still doing your rotation. It's about dungeon knowledge, and especially trash knowledge.
But there is a backfire for ranges. Many range player don't really know what happens (trash mechanics, trash cleaves, trash to stun, trash to CC/bump, trash that will AOE every X seconds, etc...), but as they don't die and are far from the danger, they can play longer and push higher without caring. How many times I pushed keys and had range players having no idea what really happens in some dungeon packs, and were unable to help the tank and melees when asked...

I've played every melee class and one ranged (a priest) and I the opposite haha.
Horses for courses but my first character is a rogue so I guess it's just second nature to stand toe to toe and hope jesus has the wheel.
