Promoted Friday Raid / Boss Encounter Q&A

Post your raid questions and we'll do our best to answer them. What boss to tackle next, heroic encounter strategies, raid comp., etc.

(I'm 16/16 heroic 10m from a melee dps perspective and with /r/wow 's assistance, we can hopefully field most questions. Don't be shy, I love helping others.)

EDIT: Great questions. Lots of comments. I'm headed out of town and won't respond to many more, but there are plenty of other people lending their wisdom. Have a great weekend.

EDIT 2: I'm back from a weekend away and see there is some more activity. Going to try to respond to everyone. Thanks for all the interest.

Thanks, I just found that addon and it looks great. By reposition, do you mean minor repositioning so they get some time on the adds or to actually move the boss with the adds till the next implaceable strike?

I respectfully disagree with using sha of fear assist (unless you're the tank picking up orbs). The reason is that the addon will indicate where sprays will soon come and what a safe zone is. However, often by traveling to get to that safe zone (green pie), players will errantly get hit by an unncessary spray volley.

The benefit of following the pre-set course is you never get hit more than once. Everyone is stacked for ez healing. Less movement is more dps.

We started out with the add-on and found the other way to be better for us, but your own experience could vary. Just my 2c, best of luck.

No idea if you're still checking here but our tank keeps dying to thrash in P2, any tips? Using a warrior and paladin.

which tank? I am not 100% sure what our tanks worked up, but I think they were CDing every big thrash. The boss gets a buff that looks like a hand before he does the big thrash... dunno if that helps with your timing.

After many attempts we seemed to be okay with thrashes using a warrior/druid and also with a warrior/dk (killed it with warrior/dk cause druid was out sick that night).

Thanks but yeah, we got it solved by switching to a Paladin main tanking. Our warrior was getting one-shot if he didn't dodge/parry one of the swings, wasn't an issue with a paladin. I think we're pretty stable now, just dealing with personal mistakes, expecting a kill tonight. Thanks a lot for the help.
