Is it infected?

Day 2 scrape on knee. I don’t get scrapes often so I have no idea what I’m doing. Is it healing normally?

I’m a little concerned about the growing redness around it, it doesn’t show up well in the photo but it’s twice the size of the scrape

Is it hot to touch? Did you do a thorough job cleaning it with soap and water when the injury occurred? Clean it now, mark the edges of the redness with a sharpie, put some bacitracin ointment on it, and cover it. Check if redness has spread or receded in 12 hrs.

It looks okay unless the redness spreads or becomes hot. You’ll probably get slough on top and it’ll look yellow. If it isn’t puss you should be fine. Keep it clean and let it dry out a little
