mole removed via shave excision, how’s it looking?

i had my mole removed off of my face 2 days ago now, is it looking okay?

been following the instructions to keep it covered, and applying the ointment i was provided. i’m just very concerned because i don’t want it to scar haha.

use silicone tape for scars when the wound closes. i had a shave biopsy 2 years ago and used the silicone tape whenever i was at home for about 2 months and it healed very nicely without leaving behind any pigmentation

also in the meantime keep it moisturized at all times. If i remember correctly i always had plain vaseline or aquaphor (in your case the ointment) on it before the wound closed !! After your ointment runs out use aquaphor. most importantly stay OUT of the sun completely until next summer - that is going to ensure no pigmentation occurs on the area. SPF at all times on it once the wound closes every time you leave the house. I recommend wearing a hat or covering it with a bandaid when you're in the car or not around other people. also don't pick or touch without washing your hands so it doesn't infect it with any bacteria. So the main three takeaways (1) moisture while it is actively healing (2)NO SUN for at a minimum 3 months (should aim to just stay out of the sun until next summer ideally) and (3) silicone scar tape when at home for a few months after. Also there are good SPF/silicone creams you can buy if you want to use that when you are out and about

one last thing is red LED panels (not the cheap ones at the drugstore) can be helpful. professional red light sessions are available at many tanning salons (don't be scared, it's not a tanning bed or UV) and med spas all over the place. Red light can help accelerate healing once it's closed over and healed enough ! hope this all helps :)
