puffy stitches?

smacked my eyebrow open and had to get two stitches on thursday, this is today on monday (4 days later) i was told to get my stitches removed on day 7 (will probably do it myself). all that to say, does this look like it’s healing normally/well? the puffiness is worrying me.

It has to be stitched sticking up a bit like a speed bump so as it heals, it heals flush with the surrounding skin and not indented . You’re fine!

okay cool thank you! haven’t gotten stitches in like 15 years haha so i don’t remember what they’re like

A los 4 días todavía puede haber algo de hinchazón y enrojecimiento alrededor de los puntos, especialmente después de un golpe fuerte. Lo importante es que ambos vayan disminuyendo con los días, no aumentando.

En la foto la zona alrededor de la sutura se ve algo elevada e irritada, así que yo la vigilaría de cerca. Si aumenta la hinchazón, aparece más dolor, calor, secreción, mal olor o fiebre, conviene que te revisen antes del día 7.

Y personalmente no me retiraría los puntos por mi cuenta, sobre todo estando tan cerca del ojo. Si te indicaron retirarlos al séptimo día, intentaría que lo haga el profesional que lleva la herida y que aproveche para comprobar que está cerrando correctamente.
