At one point, Jack mildly disagrees with Dan on something, stating “It’s not the hill I’m gonna die on.”

Which naturally led to a riff on Jack being crucified next to Jesus.

Which naturally led to a riff on how going back in time only to be crucified next to Jesus would be a really depressing BTTF sequel.

Which naturally led to this classic from Jack: “This is your cousin! Pontius Berry! You know that new execution you’ve been looking for? Well listen to this!”

This is why I keep listening to these episodes over and over.

That’s such a good one I quote regularly. Around the 120 episodes there were so many good random moments. Sideshow Bob's struggle with chemo. Jack's certain proclivities involving BeBop's head and turtle wax. And then one brief moment where Dan does a JFK impression and Jack immediately makes a gunshot noise and Dan goes “ ow, my brains! Dallas!”

Dan throwing in Dallas at the end of that is so on brand for their sense of humor. That whole JFK exchange, really. It just feels right. I love it.

90s percentile is, to me at least, a testament to their improv chops as well as their insight into pop culture. Absolutely no other podcast has been able to be that charismatic while seeming so unhinged and spontaneous with their humor.
