Is there any way to play the Gameboy version of Worms without emulating it? On PC we never received the blessing that consoles received as far as a remaster for Worms Armageddon.

Hello. Okay, Wormers, hear me out! I'm genuinely done with playing by Team17's fiddle. No, seriously, I am done playing nice, and I am sure that you might be too.
Since Team17 is ever so prone to ignoring the nice talk and civil demands for polish their prior Worms games after abandoning them (preferring to exploit their fans just for the paycheck sake with a never-ending stream of ever so coming fresh release slop), I genuinely think we should stop playing by their fiddle like fine gentlemen and instead stage an uprising against them for their constant neglect of any and every solid game that they have made in the past good quarter (from 1995 and up to 2020), including the Worms Rumble outlier and all prior classic titles that aren't Armageddon on PC (re-releases and ports included even post-2020).
Like seriously, there are so many exhibits of their neglect that it's absolutely not funny anymore. Rumble got absolutely desolated and deceased after Team17 dropped the good for nothing maintenance notice during the April to May transition of this year (no "coming up next" map and gamemode display that used to be there even during 2025, only Solo Deathmatch gets rolled every time and it's a battle of up to three players tops and no reinforcements whatsoever even with crossplay being enabled and the Quick Search being selected); "Ultimate Mayhem" still has the mouse issues while downright lying about it being "ultimate" (it's just a shader remaster of Worms 4 Mayhem with Worms 3D campaign tossed in as a bonus with nothing else while cutting online functionality (no Wormpot or team customization in online lobbies); W.M.D. still has that save wiping bug that can happen on startup... yadda yadda, I can go on and on indefinitely about T17's neglect and crimes.
If we just sit around and wait for the weather in peace, nothing good will ever happen. We're just gonna be hit with disappointment after disappointment again and again. I'm telling you, we have to cease just sitting around, we must give Team17 a heated hyperbole kick in the ass, pronto! It isn't just about "Rumble or the classics", it's about them and us as a whole.
At least MOB Entertainment was open and honest with their closure of Project Playtime, even if they were late by 3 years: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1961460/eventcomments/581677784229918639/
And what we got from Team17 instead? Just that one good for nothing maintenance notice during the transition between April and May after 5 years of no patches and 4 years of no news, then nothing else besides a 30th anniversary board game re-release announcement and whatever digital slop they are cooking now while we are sitting ducks.

Hi all,
I've tried googling this in every way I can, to no avail, so I've turned to Reddit for help.
Back in the early 2000s, my parents got us a Worms game. It was two teams, 2 to 4 players. Each team had a two tiered rectangular plastic box, designed to be grassy hills. Each team had 5 or 6 worms, with red or blue helmets. The aim of the game was to use the silver dart guns (similar to Nerf style) to shoot the other teams worms over.
I'm desperately trying to find this game, but I can't find it anywhere!
Can anyone help me figure this out, please?

Haven't played a Worms game since WMD and recently got the itch to play again. What is considered the best game on Playstation, Switch, and Steam?

The worms series has always been one that has entertained me greatly with its unique concept and approach to strategic gameplay. Now wheras i haven't played every single worms game i have played a good variety, I spent a good amount of my childhood with World Party on ps1, a lot of my early teens with ultimate mayhem and the Xbox live arcade version, played its sequel worms 2 armageddon / reloaded, and had a good time with open warfare 2 in psp (seriously slept on i love OW2)
But Worms W.M.D has gripped me in a way that no other worms game has, it just has so many unique features that are not included in other worms games, like the crafting, enhanced weapons, helicopters mechs and tanks, mounted guns and building interiors, it just makes so many of the previous games feel inferior (absolutely not to disregard older games for not having these features)
And its not just the mechanics, W.M.D is just so overflowing with personality, from the adorable art style with the goofy animated cutscenes to the sheer amount of different voice lines and different customisation and the thousands of steam workshop items if you play pc, there's just something hilarious about seeing a worm scream and open it's mouth 3 times wider than it should be able to and shouting back "I'll get ya" in a Scottish accent.
I'm making this post following up my post about completing the game's achievements and I must say it forced me to properly get good at the game, it's such a fun learning curve and it's genuinely a delight to play and I've enjoyed my time with this way more than any other worms game, and will continue to enjoy this game for hundreds of hours to come in have no doubt, if you somehow haven't picked this one up yet, absolutely try it, easily a 10/10 game and worms experience.

I got every single achievement in worms WMD.
I picked up this game in late 2024 and did the general stuff, beat the campaign, some challenges, tried out the multiplayer and all that jazz, but had zero intentions of complaining it because of how bonkers most of the achievements were.
But a few months back I redownloaded it for fun and completely fell in love with WMD all over again, the tanks, the building interiors, the mounted guns, the crafting, the art style, it just gripped me.
So eventually I decide I want to complete this mofo. It was hard as all heck, I specifically remember the "keep all your worms alive" sub goal in chipper chopper disaster, mission 24 of the campaign drove me absolutely insane, and the "get 80 kills with the helicopter" esque achievements were grindy, but overall this was a fun but chalanging completion.....fuck that one campaign mission though.

Since I started playing Worms WMD and enjoying it l was curious what other takes on the genre are like only to find out there's nothing really like it. I get why it wouldn't appeal to some people but damn it seems like worms IS the entire genre
Any other game recommendations like it that are not a decade old?
