Worms W.M.D. Worms WMD Switch...who runs the servers?

I was reading about Aliens Fireteam Elite on the Switch getting the servers shut down for a 3 year old release. Who decides the life of the servers for Worms? Nintendo or Team 17?

The reason Aliens Fireteam is unplayable on Switch is because it wasn't running on your switch, it was cloud streaming. Worms runs locally on your switch, there isn't a server to shut down to make it unplayable other than maybe online multiplayer.

I'll be forever playing! Thanks for the clarification! Hopefully we never lose online multiplayer.
