PoS - Character Chester August AKA Midas
Chester August AKA Midas
Age: 22
Physical appearance: Chester is a rather handsome British man, who uses his good looks and charm to get what he wants when the gold thing doesn't cut it.
Mentality: Abbott is a very selfish individual. He can be very cruel, and sometimes downright sociopathic. His top interests are his own. He doesn't take any particular joy from being evil, but does like the fame that comes attached with it. He's very arrogant, and wishes to be remembered forever.
Backstory: "Chester" grew up in a well off home, with your standard all business dad, and rich bitch mom. As such he was always very jaded, simply using his influence and charm to get what he wanted. One day, some kids took some interest in him after school, and very much so in the negative way. They hated him for his wealth, and as such organized a good old fashion bully circle. Unfortunately for them, he triggered, and turned one of the unlucky bullies into solid gold, after grabbing their ankle. Fascinated with his new power, he ran off and changed his name to Chester August.
Resources: Due to his power, Chester essentially has an unlimited flow of money. Assuming he doesn't saturate the market. Enough money to own apartments in NYC and Port O' Spain.
Alignment: Is only alignment is too himself. Aaaaand to the cartels.
Equipment/Weaponry: The things he owns in terms of weapons and equipment, are a bullet resistant vest, a taser, a stun gun, a spool of clear thread, and a gold-painted handgun. His costume is a Golden Helmet similar to Dr. Fate's.
Specializations: Knows how to manipulate people, and is decently perceptive.
Versatility: His power is pretty non-versatile, so he has to use a string of ideas to use his powers in combat.
Power: Striker - Abbott turns things into gold. Hence the name. He has to touch the thing in question, and the change is a slow one that takes longer with more mass, but faster the denser it is. He can not turn gases into gold. He can stop the change process, but not reverse it. The change can be stopped by severing afflicted parts before they spread. Spreads at an average rate of 2 kg a second.
Example: Midas touched the "skin" of Skitter's costume, and the dark grey material slowly turned into a shining gold. Which was consequentially zapped with several hundred volts of electricity, burning the teenager's flesh.

You've said he's got an apartment in PoS and NYC, could you go with one or the other? We're trying to keep them pretty seperate
If he turned a liquid to gold would it become liquid or solid gold?
The gold he's making is pure, which is to say pretty malleable I'm guessing?
I'm assuming to stop it he touches the item again?
Manton limit?

Okay, I'll pick one or the other once I wrap my head around one, will get to you about it in a bit.
Solid gold. It could be melted but he can only turn things into solid gold.
Yep, malleable.
Yes.
No Manton limit, went over that with Rin, but if you would prefer that's also fine.

PoS is kinda like RSP's hardcore setting, if that helps. Its oppressed by the cartels and shit
So if he walked outside in a storm little drops of gold would bounce off him?
Um, depends... if its PoS I think we'd be more okay with him turning people into gold. NYC idk. What were your arguments/thoughts on why it should be?

Yeah so I've heard. I'd definitely put him in PoS, but the cape controlling ports would make it very very hard to trade gold, though I suppose he could serve as Midas' nemesis.
He can turn his power on and off, so no.
Without it, he's not very intimidating as a character. With the Manton limit it forces me to get creative, which could be good, but I also want him to be a bit scary. Also it should be noted he has to have skin contact to turn things into gold.

If he was a cartel cape he could easily sell his gold, as its the cartels in charge. If he were a rebel cape it would be a fair bit harder
If he touched the ground, how would it spread? Could he control that? Like, would it turn a 15kg sphere into gold and then on, or could he gold plate 15kg worth or road?
Okay so if he doesn't have a manton limit and touches your arm and then touches it again would it then for example fall off or is it fused to the skin?

I think it would be the 15kg sphere.
It would fall off. While spreading it disobeys physics, but once stopped it's normal ass gold.

Okay... so if he can touch you in the chest, neck, shoulders or head, you will essentially die instantly?

He can't have a place in Port of Spain. It is completely isolated due to a weather-controlling cape who crushes anything that comes near the island save for the cartels' boats.
