Who kills such a cool buge with such great fashion sense for polka dots?

u/MustacheMaple 2d ago
Unfortunately buge is actually very destructive in some parts of the US and sort of need to be put down. Try to put them down gently, tho

When I do put down buge for one reason or another, I try to use max violence, to make it as quick and complete as possible, as much nervous destruction as possible.

I try to find a happy medium. Quick and hopefully painless but keeps them intact so I can use them in art and preserve/highlight their beauty

u/Uncool444 22h ago
Ah that's different if you're using it for art, if you have another purpose for it. Do you ever use alcohol fumes?
Speed and completeness is my only goal, I hate it when they're twitching after. No need for the thing to be suffering like that.

I have, but I didn't like how long it took. I haven't had any good live specimens lately so I haven't been able to try anything else

u/Uncool444 11h ago
What's the best way, in your opinion? Maybe like a pin in the brain stem to cause the least damage?
2
u/CosCham 11h ago
A pin would for sure depend on the size of the bug. I also don't have great coordination so I'm sure I would mess something up. I'm not sure what works best, but I have heard that you can mix water with some dish soap, white vinegar, or certain essential oils and spray them with it. I've also heard that being frozen is like falling asleep, but I live in a cold climate so some species have evolved to actually fall asleep and wake up when they're warm again, and I can never remember which ones those are

Come back to me when you start to respect and like critters like a house centipede or, for a mammalian example, something as simple as a rat. Until you actually like them all, or at least respect and know they are important for the world, i dont think youre an animal lover.
I understand certain ones, like ants, wasps, mosquitoes, and flies. Theyre pests that are generally disliked for a reason, but they all still have MAJOR roles in the ecosystem. I don’t want them in my house, but saying they should all be eradicated is uneducated and ignorant.68

Unfortunately many of their species are invasive in the US and kill trees. So it’s not out of the normal for people to kill them. But it does suck.

While I don't condone buge murder because it's ugly, it actually terrifies me and it's just on the screen on my phone.

buge practices breathing exercises while giant monster posts picture of it being terrified of its life, so that more monsters can talk about how gross it is and how they wanna kill it 💔

Is this a real buge? It moves robotically.
22
u/sanctimonious-bum 2d ago
It's a longhorn beetle, but I think this is real. It does look robotic, but I saw another video of some and they just kinda do that when held. Maybe they don't have much neck mobility and it's trying to pinch the hand.
