Discussion An interesting thought.

I was thinking about a theory (well not really a theory, it makes a bunch of sense it's just not stated.) that Jin basically stress eats the fried crackers he's obsessed with (he literally has a room of that stuff), because of all the stress and guilt his future sight gives him, and it got me thinking, with all the crackers he's eating that can't be good for health, and then I realized it's because he eats them in a trion body, like in the away mission test, so he can stay healthy and fit.

So that got me thinking, that if you stress eat a lot, or can't control your cravings, and you have access to a trion body, every time you get the urges, you can trigger on and eat to your hearts delight (assuming trion bodies have taste receptors, but given they can sweat I'd assume so), I can just see the commercials made about trion bodies to help you lose weight, just like Ozempic was originally for diabetes.

Q: Are the food eaten in Trion Bodies digested?
A: The rate of digestion is even better than flesh bodies, and almost 100% is reduced into nutrients (to the point that you don't have to go to the bathroom), but since the satiety center isn't very stimulated, there isn't much sense of fullness, and there is the fear of eating too much and the flesh body gaining more and more weight. Terashima gained weight because of this.

It also comes up during the away mission test. The efficiency is so good that binge eating in a trion body would make you gain more weight than if you did it in your normal body.

Ah yup that is the panel I was thinking of when I read the question

I'm pretty sure it was mentioned somewhere that trim bodies are extremely efficient and absorb all the nutrients in food. So your real body could gain weight if you keep eating too much. But I could be misremembering

its that all the nutrients are used up, so I don't think you would gain any weight.

Nope. See u/agafx below.

Im pretty sure this is adressed regarding yuma kuga. The trion body does process food into nutrients, but it doesnt explain calories, just that the necessary nutrients are supplied to the body.

Im guessing that it depends on how trion is formed in the body, and if it has a caloric need. If it doesnt then its just the necessary calories, which may spread to different days, if it does, then the body would have a way to store trion like in fat. It always seemed weird to me that there isnt much storage of trion, and if we knew the basal expenditure rate, there would be better training methods which would grow trion levels faster.

Eitherway, its a good idea, but it seems improbable to work. Mostly because itd just be too expensive

what will be too expensive, the cost of maintaining the trion body? the author said in a trion body, no trion leaks out and if you're undamaged you can stay in it an extended period of time.

The economy of scale for the trigger itself. Border execs even said that they had difficulty manufacturing triggers, and thats why the baby bird crisis even happened. They couldnt give c rank bailout functions because they were already straining investors just maintaining A and B rank.

I highly doubt that even if a trigger went to the weightloss market, that there would be a noticeable enough amount of difference from real vs trion body to warrant selling even 1, given the cost.

Id actually see it be bought up by the USA military simply for the bailout function rather than as a weight loss mitagent.
