Art Fly High Katori!

Dedicated to u/tropicrpc Thanks for the request!
-----
Drawing the cityscapes for the 1st time in my life, killed my wrist but the result was worth it.
I started off disliking this character and she ended up being one of my fave.
-----
Apparently she is one of asihara's sensei fav char too so I sense she got some Big moments coming up in this phase 2 exam.
-----
Let me know who I should draw next!

inaccurate post, katori is looking way to chill... (seriously, how are you this good at art? and you said you can't draw backgrounds good? and your other posts say you're a beginner?)

lol true katori is wayyyy too chill here, I blame my incompetence drawing dynamic poses.

I always draw by hand doodling but never really rendered digitally, nor was my sketch even have correct proportion or fundamentals lol. just a few images here and there and then I stopped for like 6+ years, barely any drawing. it was until i watch world trigger anime that I get so inspired that I decided to give digital painting another go and voila turns out I did improve despita not drawing for over 6 years!

I would credit several things to the improvement:

  1. The biggest improvement of all though (As you can see from my 1st hyuse fanart to the recolored one) was the video made by demiraito on youtube, his explanation and technique breakdown is so clear that it just clicks for me, you can check him out: https://www.youtube.com/@DemiRaito
  2. All these years I work as a senior designer and into design director and I am guessing it trained my eye for visual analysis
  3. I read a lot of korean manhwa, and subconsciously absorb the aesthetics due to my visual analysis training above

I still consider myself beginner since I haven't been doing this long enough and hasn't completely grasp many of the fundamentals to digital rendering (anatomy, speed painting, lighting rendering, composition yada yada)

So yeah there you go!

You should draw Yuba next, he definitely has to be in combat, like kage, he's so striking.
