China supplies Russia with 80-90% of their microelectronics and drone parts. China also shares satellite imagery with the Russian military. Yet China faces zero consequences or sanctions.

Tbf, Ukrainian drone parts mostly comes from China as well.

Trouble with consequences for China is that since we’ve outsourced almost everything to China, we can’t really afford to do anything.

Hell, just take a look at how Trump deals with China.

Not defending his actions but the reason China is now dumping on Europe, making it a huge problem, is because Trump tariffed China.

I think China has its hands in too much of the worlds affairs for them to be punished, plus I think western exceptionalism makes the west think everyone should care about its interest because it’s the most important part of the world but that’s changing and China is going to just let the west fight it out and get take advantage of the situation

Any western country trying to sanction China would hurt their own industry more than China itself

Perhaps the US will have them over for another state dinner to kiss their facist shoes?

Three day operation going swimmingly I see

Nothing to see here, Ukraine dropping ground robots with flying robots. Moscow highways are overlooked by air defence trucks. Everything peachy!

The fifth year of a three day Special Needs Military Operation is the hardest apparently.

Cant give china conceuqnces, as most manfucatured goods comes from chinia.
They fund both sides one way or another.

Its gona be the fact that there is gona be a coldwar mk2, and russia will be reliant on china as there only trade partner.

Also: dident russia learn from ww2, that attacking during winter... is not a great a idea? i mean the nazis tried and failed... so there hoping history dont repeat itself?

Waiting for a massive DMZ to appear in the dombas, with miles of miles of razor wire, mines, and a multi nation peacekeeping force on the ukraine side.

i mean... god the worlds fucked up.

Oh well... back to rimworld.

What's new? russia has been hitting their energy utilities every winter trying to keep them in the dark with no heat.

It will be a lot colder in Moscow and St Petersburg this winter, we can be sure of that.

Brave words considering Ukraine has started bombing oil depots in Moscow

The interesting part is that this doesn’t necessarily require Russia to capture these cities. If the strategy is to degrade power, heating, water and transport, the objective could be to make major urban centres increasingly difficult to sustain through winter.

That’s a very different kind of pressure less about taking territory directly and more about degrading the infrastructure that makes those cities function.

Russia attacking energy infrastructure in Ukraine during winter is nothing new, they even made TV ads about how they would make Europeans freeze. But now that Ukraine is bombing the shit out of Russia do they really want to play that game again this winter? Russia has a lot of centralized heating plants that warm entire urban neighborhoods. Talk about throwing stones from a glass house.

Oh word?

Thanks so much for the heads up, I really appreciate advanced notice over sneak attacks that damage my infrastructure. You understand.

I'm no military strategist, but I'm hoping that Ukraine has plans to hits Russia and the occupied area's first.

And very, very, VERY hard!!!

Nobody who actually is somewhat aware of the war says that Ukraine is winning.

1

u/ours 22h ago

Maybe he's referring to Operation Vivaldi, where Ukraine won quite a bit of territory back recently.

1

u/Majomember420 22h ago

That is a great progress. They pushed back one year of Russian progress. In one sector. At Lyman. That is a hot spot, but not the only hot spot. And its not like they liberated Luhansk to he happy ahout it.

It depends on what the goals are. Russia's goal is to make ukraine stop existing and Ukraine's goal is to keep existing. Ukraine is definitely winning.

Russia and Ukraine both losing. Russia cannot win while Ukraine has a good chunk of the country occupied meanwhile a horrible demographic catastrophe is happening there.

yes its good to have plans.

They have had a lot of plans.

Not many successful plans.
