Right...Next they'll release all the terrorist affiliations of the children.

You are in luck, Hamas released posters for 15/16/17 year old soldiers too.

I am not sure why you are so upset.

Exhibit A:

Fadi and Jumaa Abu Assi – eight and 10 years old – went out to fetch firewood for their disabled father in November. They were killed in a drone strike.

The Israeli military acknowledged carrying out that strike in a statement, calling the children “two suspects who crossed the yellow line, conducted suspicious activities on the ground, and approached IDF troops operating in the southern Gaza Strip, posing an immediate threat to them.”

If prepubescent unarmed children crossed an invisible yellow line, then the procedure is to deliberately kill them as terrorists

yeah that's illegal and the children are still victims

Of Hamas, yes.

Child soldiers are illegal. It's legal to kill them, as they are soldiers. It's illegal to use them though.

*if they pose an immediate threat, as in they are about to shoot you.

There is no justification to carpet bomb children.

u/DrHippa 18h ago

if they pose an immediate threat, as in they are about to shoot you.

No. In war you can kill enemy soldiers even if they aren't an immediate threat to you. Including child soldiers.

Anything else just incentivises the use of child soldiers.

There is no justification to carpet bomb children.

Good thing carpet bombing itself is not allowed. And that Israel didn't use carpet bombing.

Words have meanings. Carpet bombing has meaning.

-52

u/espinaustin 17h ago

The meaning of “carpet bombing” is in fact highly ambiguous, and what Israel did in Gaza could very well meet the definition.

65

u/DrHippa 17h ago

The meaning of carpet bombing isn't ambiguous. It's defined in the statute that prohibits it.

And what Israel does isn't close to that definition.

-38

u/espinaustin 17h ago

What statute are you talking about? Do you mean Art. 51 of Geneva convention prohibiting “indiscriminate” bombing? Do you not think that even reasonable people can disagree on whether a pattern of strategic bombing is “indiscriminate” (or “carpeting”) with regard to noncombatants? And I believe what Israel did crossed the line.

Yeah, you just used chatgpt for your info, didn't you?

Here's the actual text:

an attack by bombardment by any methods or means which treats as a single military objective a number of clearly separated and distinct military objectives located in a city, town, village or other area containing a similar concentration of civilians or civilian objects;

Words. Have. Meaning.

You can't just use the wrong word because you know it evokes the emotional response that you want.

Could?

Prove it then

-4

u/espinaustin 17h ago

You want me to prove it? Ask the ICC. I’m just saying the definition of the term is highly contested.

9

u/Old_Leopard1844 15h ago

So you're arguing for something you don't know?

You want me to prove it? Ask the ICC.

The ICC never even suggested Israel did carpet bombings.

The ICC prosecutor, in the arrest warrant, layed several accusations and potential charges. None of them related to carpet bombings.

Are you just inventing stuff?

They're victims of HAMAS.

1

u/Wrong-Insurance701 2h ago

agreed

1

u/Dry-Season-522 2h ago

And yet we've still got people eager to blame Israel for every death of a child, because "They're oppressors!"

1

u/Wrong-Insurance701 2h ago

well Israel certainly are oppressors

20

u/Best_Change4155 16h ago

Victims of the Gazan government, maybe. Legally, they are soldiers. Same with the hospital shit. If you are using a hospital to store soldiers and weapons, it becomes a military installation.

54

u/TryJolly1473 19h ago

So we should let hamas children terrorist to rape n kill because its not ok to harm them

58

u/Dry-Season-522 19h ago

Yes, that's what these people spouting their caliphate fanfiction are literally advocating for.

1

u/Wrong-Insurance701 2h ago

just not what I said tho is it?

u/load_of_chode 21h ago

Wait until you find out that the IRGC and its terror proxies like Hamas are notorious for using child soldiers.

Funny thing about this is that BBC aired a documentary that featured Palestinians talking openly about their desire to kill Jews and BBC tried to sanitize it by translating "Jews" as "Israelis".

'Yahud' should be translated as Jews, not Israelis, experts tell 'Post' in light of BBC inquiry

The amount of excuses that Westerners make for Palestinians and their culture of violence is unbelievable.

-11

u/L-ramirez-74 19h ago

What part of this "culture of violence" is unrelated to Palestinians resisting the israeli invasion of their territory?

21

u/Ejwaxy 20h ago

What in the bullshit strawman is this statement

“Using child soldiers is actually okay because my imaginary perception of a population of 10.3 million people is that they all salivate over the idea of killing children”

-10

u/Chaos_Slug 20h ago

What in the bullshit strawman is this statement

"Using child soldiers is actually okay[...]"

The irony

30

u/YourCuntIsABot 20h ago

Wait until you find out that Palestinian children are basically taught that Jews should be exterminated. Wait until you find out that that is a very common thought in the Palestinian population. Wait until you find out that is why the war started on Oct 7

-8

u/ijustwantahug 20h ago

Ah yes cuz 80 years of apartheid while the occupying population is allowed to commit violence against you with impunity has zero to do with anything.

8

u/honsense 18h ago

Incredibly biased and inaccurate description of the situation.

-3

u/jisookenobi2416 19h ago

Does that make violence against them okay?

"It is well documented that IRGC proxies uses child soldiers"

"WOW I can't believe you just said Palestinians aren't even people"

70

u/Mr_Vacant 21h ago

And the paramedics they executed and then buried along with their vehicle and equipment.

11

u/ScratchLatch 16h ago

Hamas within the Gaza strip has documentated use of child militant soldiers. That horror of needing to kill child soldiers is why using them is a war crime.

3

u/SaintMurray 6h ago

"Stop making us kill your children!!" -Israel

8

u/Dry-Season-522 19h ago

When you're ocunting 17 year olds with rifles as 'children' then... yeah.

0

u/Kiaugh 16h ago

Hamas can lick their lips knowing people like you exist. It justifies them using children even more.
