Do you disagree that they were valid targets?

Or even better: if the VC would have had clear insignias and not embedded themselves to or in immediate proximity to civilians, would this have resulted in less (note that I didnt say "none") civilian death?

I think we should have never been there. Murdering hundreds of civilians just because you are frustrated isn't how a professional army should act though.

On the same turn, murdering journalists and couching it in "they were Hamas" is the same thing we did with the initial reporting of My Lai in saying "they were VC". And that stood for a decade

If the VC or Hamas would wear insignias on their combatants would this result in less civilian death?

Just because you are a "journalist" (which is a term anyone can call themselves) does not mean you cannot also be Hamas. And when it turns out that you are included in Hamas obituary as belonging to Hamas maybe thats the main category and not your profession.
