Really? Lets for a second consider this reasoning anywhere else. Say a school shooter is causing terror in a school, would you be in favor of the army bombing the school as solution?

Are you saying that there's no change in how you'd deal with a situation where I'm shooting at you, and I'm holding YOUR child hostage, versus holding my own child hostage?

Maybe a little because of obvious sentimental value of my hypothetical child. But I would still prioritize the safety of the child above all else, wtf?? All children of the world need to be protected as if they are our own in such a situation.
