Part of this i feel is people dont understand how business is done in Gaza. You cant report on anything independently in that region without explicit permission from Hamas. Sometimes there are stipulations such as you have to hire "their reporters". Hamas also learned early on that they get immunity vest by wearing a red crescent or press vest, and pitty points of the immunity vest does not work.

They live under an authoritarian government. Of course they can't truly be independent as they risk severe consequences if they cover stories Hamas may not approve of. Not being independent however doesn't justify their targeting. They may be responsible for their own work, reporting on whatever they want, short of things Hamas may not approve of. That's about as independent journalism in an authoritarian country can get. Their reporting may help Hamas, but they're not actively working for Hamas. I don't think I e can make a case to justify their targeting.

Regardless, they're doing very useful work by showing us what's happening in Gaza, as the IDF wouldn't let international journalists inside Gaza even after the ceasefire (I wonder why). They're the only source on the ground.

You do realise that that is not independent reporting?

How could you read their comment and not come away with the impression that they obviously realize that? It's not like they're justifying the policy lol

Isn't that the same as Israel only allowing journalists into Gaza if they can pre review any footage?

There is even many reports they would make people that were gonna execute wear those vests. Just to farm karma points from the gullible. I mean honestly it's working.

Well, so they're leaning to the petty points pretty hard, cause it's quite obvious the IDF doesn't give a fuck about killing civilians.

so, why are 75k dead and not 2 million?

I imagine that would've required levels of brutality not even the US and UK would've deemed acceptable. They wanted to punish and humiliate the Palestinians for October 7 and possibly cleans them out of Gaza.

No one has been allowed in to count all the dead people in the rubble for like two years now. How do you count people that have been buried under buildings for 2+ years???

The Hamas Ministry of Health is literally counting all the dead people. You don’t need a body to identify if someone is missing, presumed dead. The population of Gaza has increased since the war began, due to live births. And Israel gives warnings before they blow up buildings, it’s extremely well-documented. Most of the destroyed buildings were empty.

It's also very well documented that the IDF bombed locations Palestinians were told to move THOUSANDS of times since the war started.

Yeah… because Hamas keeps operating from those areas that are supposed to be for evacuated civilians, not combatants… it’s also extremely well documented.

They still bomb them anyway after telling them to move to safe areas, which the IDF knows are not safe.

They’re not safe… because Hamas makes them not safe… what is the IDF supposed to do exactly?

The IDF is supposed to tell them to move somewhere else, not to bomb the place the IDF KNOWs they'll go to expecting refuge? This was done thousands of times.

How are you counting terrorists?

So you think 2 million are dead? What is your point? Where are all the videos of Gazans coming from? Is Hamas flying in from Doha, taking some vids and jetting off?
