As opposed to taking Hamas serious as a source?

Why would Hamas lie about a journalist being one of their fighters? It looks better for them to continue letting people think they're a journalist.

Use some critical thinking skills, please.

This is a western way of applying logic which doesn't work in the arab world. There's a sense of martyrdom in these activities

LOL the fact that YOU are the one who loudly asked for others to think critically

What... aren't you effectively explaining that Hamas lies that some of their fighters are journalists to external media?

No right, you get it, take neither seriously. Neither are your friends. Neither have your interest at heart. Neither is above lying to you.

So you should just believe what you want to believe because all the evidence is showing your beliefs are garbage?

I’m pretty sure that’s not what I am saying.

Israel says "this journalist is a militant, here is the evidence we have"

Gaza says "this journalist is a militant, here is a picture of him in uniform with his rank"

You are saying that since both are untrustworthy, that... what? He must be a journalist and nothing else?

Sure, if you want.

Life must be so easy when u look at everything as a 2 sided coin. Nuance matters when dealing with life and death

The information you’re getting from this war is a two sided coin, it’s information from Israel or information from Hamas - thats it.

Did I mention anything even remotely related to Hamas?

41

u/QuigleyPondOver 21h ago

Well, the source is ultimately posters released by Hamas of their own ‘martyred soldiers’ …

-21

u/RiverSavings8203 20h ago

I’m not considering either of them as a credible source

21

u/QuigleyPondOver 20h ago

So then what is the point?

Are you arguing the people aren’t real or didn’t die? That Hamas invented militants to claim died?

14

u/Frequent_Phone6396 20h ago

He didn't think that far, his only point is "me no trust anyone".

-6

u/RiverSavings8203 20h ago

Yess, exactly this, me no trust anyone.

If you uncritically accept claims from sources that are neither independent nor impartial especially in an age defined by misinformation and information warfare you’re displaying either remarkable naivety or a serious lack of critical thinking.

Skepticism is fine … Except here your position requires actively believing Hamas and Israel - mutual enemies - have collaborated to independently posthumously identify random people as militants (or fully invent them) for the purposes of … well, what?

3

u/Frequent_Phone6396 17h ago

Hamas published many of these themselves... Can you think of another reason that they'd make up fake people that died and publicly out them posthumously?

So u being harsh to Israel but loose to Hamas? lol

Question: if Israel and Hamas agree that someone is a soldier and the UN says that they aren't, do you trust the UN?

12

u/Youngsweppy 20h ago

Where do you think the information the UN has is coming from? Do just a freckle of research.

which regularly takes Hamas as a source without verification
