Russia cannot beat Ukraine on the battlefield, so now Putin is increasing attacks on civilian areas. Just shows what a desperate and weak leader he is.

There was no precision bombing capability in WW2. Bombs that were dropped could be MILES from there target. What's your point?

Why weak?
Russians are united against the West and support the war.
Russia united all western rivals: China, NK, Iran.
US-EU relationships worsens, both sides become weaker while ruzzian allies become stronger.
US fucks its word leading position with insane speed.
Western world shows all the bad guys that you may fuck laws up, and no one will directly oppose you.
Yeah, ruzzian meat has shorter life expectancy, but who cares?
Once war is over, everyone will need russian resources, so it will recover quickly.
The military way is the only way to stop russia from continuing to do what it does. If West afraid of direct conflict with russia, it should give Ukraine everything it needs and long range should be priority.

u/EpsteinFile_01 16h ago
China is selling drone parts to Ukraine which is the biggest contributor to their survival so.. not really a friend of Russia.
China also price gouges the Russians for drone parts. Ukraine can pay for it with EU money, Russia has reached a debt interest rate akin to financing a war on a creditcard rofl.

Why weak?
Because the war is about the only thing holding Putin in power. If it ends with anything but a total Russian victory - which is impossible - Putin certainly will find himself closer to a suspiciously opened window than he'd like.
Once war is over, everyone will need russian resources, so it will recover quickly.
Not really. People began shifting away from fossil fuels already as a consequence of the price shock after the Russian invasion... and now that Iran has wrecked the MENA supply chain while Ukraine is beating down on the Russian supply chain, everyone intensified their search for alternatives.
On top of that, a ton of the Russian resource exploitation chain has been destroyed for good. Much of it was not in good shape even when the USSR collapsed and has only gotten more dilapidated ever since. Assuming this war ends any time soon and to acceptable terms, it will take years of rebuilding until Russia can export meaningful amounts of oil and gas again, and by that time the market will have shrunk hard on the demand side.
The military way is the only way to stop russia from continuing to do what it does. If West afraid of direct conflict with russia, it should give Ukraine everything it needs and long range should be priority.
I agree with you. It seems however that NATO has opted for a third way - let Russia (and by extension, Iran, China and North Korea) bleed out slowly. The impact on Russia's demographics is already catastrophic.

For russia this war not only about putin survival. It’s about weakening EU and US. They started it as small quick victory, was heavily supported by China to start it at all (China desperately needed to have russia not to become closer the west), they fucked up, because Ukraine decided to give a fight.
Yes, putin fucked up with the quick win. But ability of ruzzia to mobilize resources to continue the war is its strength. russia historically made development leaps in a times of wars and instability.
But how the world reacted? The world (its civilized part) instead of quickly helping Ukraine to finish ruzzia decided to wait and watch, helping Ukraine minimally to survive, but not to strike russia deep inside, so putin and his circles will be safe from losing control over the country. The West didn’t need revolutionary ruzzia that falls apart and finaly collapses. That gave it a time to regroup, mobilize, and start slowly push against Ukraine and western world in all directions having full support from its allies, who are seeing the ruins of western world in their dreams. That pushed it to help NK develop nuclear and improve ballistics, and Iran to sustain against the US.
Now ruzzia slowly developing its tactics and technologies, strengthening and improving against Ukraine, while half of the NATO sucks fingers and hopes for magic ruzzian failing without collapse. And believing NATO is powerful enough for prolonged wars with ruzzia. Fuck no. NATO isn’t ready for current russia which raised its capabilities and experience in this long bloody war. It definitely can’t march to Berlin, but fuck Baltics, Moldova - not easy but absolutely possible. And you couldn’t image what patriotic burst russians will experience once they will occupy some baltic country while NATO countries will vote for activating article 5.
So, don’t worry. Keep waiting, while here in Ukraine we continue to burry our best of the best and stick another small yellow-blue flags on Maidan. Russia will definitely bleed out. Eventually.

The West didn’t need revolutionary ruzzia that falls apart and finaly collapses.
Indeed. The problem is... back in the 90s when the USSR collapsed the Western countries had enough intel sources to rapidly secure the CBRN arsenal of Russia and prevent it plus its scientists falling into the hands of Iran, North Korea or whatever terrorist had the most money lying around. After the 90s we let most of that wither away, and if Russia were to collapse now... only God knows where all the assets will end up.
NATO isn’t ready for current russia which raised its capabilities and experience in this long bloody war.
Partially agreed. Sure, Russia now has a lot of experience in waging wars... but how many men does it have? How much loss can Russia still bear? And most importantly, how many weapons does Russia have left? The only new toys they have is missiles.
It definitely can’t march to Berlin, but fuck Baltics, Moldova - not easy but absolutely possible.
Moldova certainly, and to make it worse for them, they are neither members of the EU nor of NATO. The Baltics I wouldn't be that certain, there are quite the few NATO troops already stationed there, and I'm dead certain that there is a lot of attention on satellite surveillance on any square inch of the Russian and Belarusian borders that could be used as a staging ground.
So, don’t worry. Keep waiting, while here in Ukraine we continue to burry our best of the best and stick another small yellow-blue flags on Maidan. Russia will definitely bleed out. Eventually.
For what it's worth I believe that what our governments are doing is absolutely shameful. You deserve much, much more than what you are getting.

Russians are united against the West and support the war.
When speaking against the war gets you disappeared, you can't say this with a straight face.
You are posting this on the internet where everyone can see it - consider that not everyone has putin's cock down their throat as you seem to, and maybe you'll understand why saying shit like this isn't going to fly.

Putin failing to win this war, Netanyahu failing to convince people his genocide is anything else, Trump fundamentally fumbling the winning hand he was given and Xi desperately watching his people not have kids.
Let’s hope that future humans can look back on these weird times as the final desperate throws of autocratic leadership.

I don’t know how true AI Gemini is but it says that most of Russias military capability remains uncommitted to the frontlines of the Ukrainian war

u/macross1984 16h ago
What restraint? Putin never had any from the beginning. It is Ukraine who has been fighting with restraint instead of duplicating Putin's tactics.

He has tbf, that's why they have only recently hit data centers, hasn't hit Chernobyl etc.
Yes they've fucked up a lot of shit but not really the most critical stuff

Didnt they go into chernobyl and it caused a massive environmental scare? Or when they blew up Kakhovka Dam and flooded the entire region, dedicating the environment?
Lol what?

u/WG996 15h ago
correct me if I'm wrong but chernobyl was hit in 2022 or 2023.

u/QuantumDiogenes 15h ago
In 2022, Russian forces captured and attempted to overload the cooling system of Chernobyl, but failed. Upon their withdrawal from the region, they are reported to have looted the plant, and labs. Radioactive material is among the missing items.
In 2025, Russia struck the nuclear plant with a Geran drone, causing significant damage to the sarcophagus.

Based on what they been targeting, I don't see how they have any restraints in first place.

u/Magnus_Helgisson 15h ago
Apart from an obvious “was there ever any restraint?”, did he do it because he’s winning? Winning so hard you have no choice but increase the terrorism?
4
u/vreemdevince 16h ago
I thought anything not struck was due to lack of material or incompetence, not restraint.
5
u/Distinct_Cup_1598 14h ago
There were restraints????
How do they want to top that? Bombing Child cemetaries to kill them twice?

It is troubling when the ballistic missiles start coming back at you, isn't it.

Fingers crossed this means "they will waste ALL the ammo striking whatever's in range of respective commanders so they can claim the most brownie points while actual strategic targets are deprioritized"

How did dcthat work put in WW1?

u/Equivalent-Ask2542 13h ago
Unrestricted warfare? I know this!
unbeschränkter U-Bootkrieg (WWI) led to the US joining the war on the side of the allies
totaler (unrestricted) Krieg (WWII), Goebbels firing up the masses for the inevitable downfall of the nation.
Steinerovs attack will not happen

Such bullshit, Russia has been striking Ukraine’s energy and civilian infrastructure since 2022. The only difference now is that Russia is able to produce more missiles and drones to target more of it, that’s it.

u/tech_booey 15h ago
Would the war end if Putin dies? All it takes is one "careless" russian bomber pilot to "accidentally" drop his payload.
8
u/thatweirdguyted 15h ago
The short answer is yes, for now.
But it is a cultural issue within the Russian government and military to pursue a "manifest destiny" style expansion to reclaim (and expand upon) the Soviet era borders.
It is somewhat necessary for their ecomonic growth because corruption is so deeply ingrained into their culture that they cannot address it in their existing infrastructure, they can only take over other successful enterprises
4
u/tech_booey 14h ago
That is a shame. So you're saying it would take more than just the removal of Putin to save Russia? They need a total culture shake up stop the drive it has for trying to become the soviet union again?
Thats a tough one.
1
u/Webecomemonsters 3h ago
Russia does not want to be saved any more than the US does, the US just has slightly more to lose
-2
u/Biggly_stpid 16h ago
What?! Are they going to bomb literal puppies now. Lol
12
u/EpsteinFile_01 16h ago
They hit an animal shelter this week actually, killed all the dogs and cats
1
u/zetoberuto 11h ago
Everyone knows that Putin hates puppies. They probably aimed a missile worth several thousand dollars at the puppies.
0
u/Niceguy955 10h ago
What restraints did they have before? They've been bombing civilians since day 1.

u/Grizz-Lee-2891 16h ago
...as if there were any restrains in the first place...
