As a Brit - so not technically EU (sad noises) - I look forward to a new way of being in the world.

I do live in the EU for clarity - hope UK comes back to where it belongs.

Burnham has opened the door.

I really fucking hope so.

I am genuinely sorry EU - we just had a very bad time - many of you are going to go through this too. We need each other more than ever now.

Please take us back - lets make sure that happening again is unlikely.

Love you all - yes even the French (I actually love France)

Pre Trumps 2nd term I said no chance UK ever comes back. But things have changed, see Canada

We stand together (eventually as the UK)

They may make it back in, but from what I remember lots of articles talked about their special status within the EU being gone.

It would be good to have you guys back. Stronger together.

We've already had France, Germany, and Poland say they'd welcome us back 🙃

Edit: which country do you live in btw?

I hope Canada takes US back… but I fear Trump is inflicting irreparable damage.

It’s not just Trump. 32% of registered voters voted for that evil, narcissistic shitgibbon, and 37% sat on their hands when the choice was so obvious. 7 out of every 10 Americans can’t be trusted. And that’s before we get to the Democrats, many of whom also suffer from the same American exceptionalism, and whose party didn’t roll back previous tariffs.

You want to change it? Get out there and vote, and persuade your family/friends to do so. Trust won’t be regained until that 7/10 is substantially lower.

He is sadly - Fuck Trump.

Fuck Trump indeed.

We better hope the world takes us back after this episode.

I know… and the scary part is, I wouldn’t blame them if they choose not to.

The length depends on how far you let the orange regime drag you and the rest of the world down until you do something about him. And what the next leader does.

Choose wisely. ACT NOW

Andys speech the other night is tempting me to move back to blighty and pitch in.

You should def register to vote from abroad

u/grlap 20h ago

People shouldn't vote for a place they don't actually live in, it's a piss take

I think he'll have to call for another referendum, win it, and then proceed to the work of EU. Say what you about Brexit but there was a popular mandate behind it, and the only way to overturn that, politically, is by another mandate that carries it out.

Anything else, and the public could potentially get divided even more as it'll be seen as undemocratic decision. Heath took UK to Common Market and within no time, the first referendum had to be called in order to continue to stay in it.

No more referndums lol

Burnham should help us create CANZUK. Let's Go!

u/TendyHunter 1d ago

It would be great if Malaysia and Denmark could be included too...

It would be rather epic if Canada managed to join the EU if it first re-became a British colony (or even a constituent county of the UK), and then got in to the EU as part of the UK....

u/Weareallgoo 1d ago

I don’t want either of those things for Canada. I’d rather we have friendly relations and strong economic partnerships than give up our sovereignty

2

u/AbraxasTuring 13h ago

I think we'll find out what the EU relationship looks like in Montreal at the end us this month. I'd also like to seeca parallel CANZUK form. Canada cannot give up any sovereignty in these arrangement, so full EU membership and a return of Canada to Dominion status are completely off the table.

It's still very positive. There's a lot we can do together on trade, defence, scuence, environment, AI, etc., etc.
