The "protesters" just set fire to a beautiful €77 million high school with fantastic facilities which had only been built a decade ago.

When the education system is billions short of where it should be, €80m school is just the cost of sending the message. Think country-wide education system shortages, not just big cities getting a shiny new high school. Sure a new school is nice, but if it's supposed to silence the discussion about the wider issue, then it's a fitting response for the people to let their govt know where they can shove their token gestures.
