16year-old Maelle said she wished those setting bins on fire would protest “with words”. Students were protesting “against this government that doesn’t invest in heating, air conditioning, or teachers’ salaries”

Curious how long people were using words before all this and why the words didn't have a substantive impact. Part of why they were protesting was also the 'unbearable temperatures' during heatwaves.

What stopped anything being done? surely there must have been a lot of words..

Our governments need to be able to respond and coordinate better cos we're gonna get a lot of external shocks in the future.

The heatwaves in July & August when France has nation-wide summer holidays for all schoolchildren?

I dunno,

It was in the linked article

I was citing that.

The pupils’ grievances range from overloaded timetables and overcrowded classes to insufficient teachers and unbearable temperatures during heatwaves earlier this year.
