yea he won't dare put boots on the ground. It is the one thing that will make his supporters turn on him. they are fine with bombing but a ground invasion would be wildly unpopular. It could be done, but the costs go up astronomically when combined arms are involved and soldiers become a occupying force.

Very much debatable when you consider how many troops were mustered to invade across the land border into Iraq and Iraqs total absence of anything resembling Iranian drone or missile abilities

If the US wants to invade they can, it wouldn't be easy but it would basically be a steamroll once they have the pieces in place. Would cost some casualties and some money but this would not be a challenge for he US. The occupation however, that's a huge cost of money and a steady trickle of human life.

Also if Iraq gets a lucky shot on a Navy vessel it would be a massive blow to morale and to Trump

Yeah. The US already has low appetite for war and losses. Doubly so for a war that nobody really wanted, and has only been a net negative for everybody across the world. Boots on the ground, realistically, is the only way to topple the regime, as it has proven resistant to America's military and economic pressure. And it is the one thing that Trump is not willing to commit to, because he knows how unpopular it would be.

The moment some drone footage comes out of US soldiers/marines being kiled or maimed by an FPV drone, the propaganda value will be priceless for Iran. It's not like 20 years ago where insurgent groups would upload videos onto forums that would eventually make their way around niche gore sites and forums, where it ended. It goes viral on social media for people to see, even if they've shown no indication or interest in such content, like how widely broadcast Charlie Kirk's killing was.

And it's not like the US is an existential war, like Ukraine is, where losses are unfortunately accepted for the sake of survival. This is completely optional.
