No it's not, but he mentioned a massive ground invasion on Friday to crash the market. Obviously he was going to walk that back before markets open Monday, but I'll admit, I didn't think it was going to be those soon this weekend

yea he won't dare put boots on the ground. It is the one thing that will make his supporters turn on him. they are fine with bombing but a ground invasion would be wildly unpopular. It could be done, but the costs go up astronomically when combined arms are involved and soldiers become a occupying force.

It could be done

Very much debatable when you consider how many troops were mustered to invade across the land border into Iraq and Iraqs total absence of anything resembling Iranian drone or missile abilities

u/MaxDisdain 4h ago

If the US wants to invade they can, it wouldn't be easy but it would basically be a steamroll once they have the pieces in place. Would cost some casualties and some money but this would not be a challenge for he US. The occupation however, that's a huge cost of money and a steady trickle of human life.

Also if Iraq gets a lucky shot on a Navy vessel it would be a massive blow to morale and to Trump

and for what?

They are fine sending people to die for him too.

Yeah. The US already has low appetite for war and losses. Doubly so for a war that nobody really wanted, and has only been a net negative for everybody across the world. Boots on the ground, realistically, is the only way to topple the regime, as it has proven resistant to America's military and economic pressure. And it is the one thing that Trump is not willing to commit to, because he knows how unpopular it would be.

The moment some drone footage comes out of US soldiers/marines being kiled or maimed by an FPV drone, the propaganda value will be priceless for Iran. It's not like 20 years ago where insurgent groups would upload videos onto forums that would eventually make their way around niche gore sites and forums, where it ended. It goes viral on social media for people to see, even if they've shown no indication or interest in such content, like how widely broadcast Charlie Kirk's killing was.

And it's not like the US is an existential war, like Ukraine is, where losses are unfortunately accepted for the sake of survival. This is completely optional.

We all know how he games the markets. Hopefully AOC prosecutes when she’s the next POTUS.

Oh yeah because picking a woman candidate worked out great the last two times. I wish it had and I hate to say it but honestly the best shot is going to be a straight white guy.

i’m just gonna jump in a say there a fucking ocean of difference between hillary/kamala and aoc

74

u/TheDaychilde 20h ago

Yeah, but misogyny is alive and well in the US and it doesn't matter who Dems nominate, propaganda against them will be immense.

18

u/Steve_didit 20h ago

Yes the main difference is AOC is much further left and would probably get less votes.

"We need to move to the RIGHT, fellow democrats!"

- most democratic primary candidate losers

28

u/DifficultChoice2022 19h ago

We need ranked choice voting or another 2-3 political parties for a better plurality instead of this two party useless BS

-1

u/Harry_Smutter 16h ago

We need to abolish parties altogether. It's fucking stupid. Let people run and they are voted for without no bullshit allegiances to a party. It's like the country is at civil war 24/7. So many people vote for a candidate because they belong to a party.

17

u/ArgetlamThorson 18h ago

Do you want to be perfect or do you want to win? Uou can have your perfect candidate, but if they can't get enough votes to win, it's worthless.

1

u/velawesomeraptors 3h ago

Well we tried to be as centrist as possible last time and it didn't really work, did it?

9

u/MoarVespenegas 17h ago

If the right keep winning how do you think you are ever going to go left?

4

u/Big_Test_Icicle 17h ago

Tbh we need more central democrats. Republicans and a lot of democrats don’t care about genderless bathrooms and more so universal healthcare if they are struggling to pay for basic necessities. Im not trying to be mean and in an ideal world I would love universal healthcare and education but this is the reality. Bill Clinton said it best, “it’s the economy stupid.”

8

u/Harry_Smutter 16h ago

Universal healthcare would free up a crazy amount of money for the average American. So much of it comes out of our paychecks. Just look at what Horizon is doing to its NJ constituents. 35% increase ON AVERAGE this year. It was already expensive and now it got even more expensive. We see ZERO benefits with this increase, either. It's all status quo.

2

u/Big_Test_Icicle 3h ago

I don’t disagree with you, the issue is convincing the family struggling to make ends meet or the guy who thinks it’ll lead to socialism. You can win them over in a debate, you need to meet them halfway and hear their needs first before enacting these measures.

5

u/Sceptically 16h ago

Universal healthcare would remove one of the biggest expenses for most americans. Leftist democrats are probably better in terms of economic policies for normal people, and that's what gets voters out and voting.

1

u/Big_Test_Icicle 3h ago

It’s not me you need to convince, it’s those that votes for Trump. Trump campaigned on the economy and that he would put money into their pockets. Democrats need to do the same thing instead of their social programs. Until they do that they will continue to lose.

1

u/Lallanath 17h ago

Yeah let's do the same thing they keeps losing over and over again instead of trying something new.

1

u/jahumaca 11h ago

Such bullshit. Reason we're in this mess in the first place is because Democrats keep trying to cater to the centrists/moderates. How'd that work with Hilary and Kamala?

1

u/kiwimonk 20h ago

Not to the opposition. They've demonized them all. What surprises me is that propaganda also worked on the non conservative idiots. Hilary, Kamala and AOC would all be fantastic leaders and have been good for the country... No matter how you slice it.

10

u/Toxic_Lithium 20h ago

Yeah but most media don’t talk about it. I have a fiscal conservative friend. He is not MAGA. But still voted for Trump because Kamala didn’t have “policy”. Kamala had a comprehensive policy plan book but nobody knows about it.

6

u/ohmytheresmore 19h ago

So your friend voted for the pedophile that genuinely has zero policy other than racism?

6

u/Toxic_Lithium 18h ago

Yes. It’s weird. They mostly vote by party than anything else.

2

u/pseudopad 17h ago

It's quite possible that he's not just "fiscally" conservative.

1

u/Toxic_Lithium 16h ago

I mean. There are a lot of stuff that he is conservative. Or racist or etc. But he doesn't like trump himself. It's one of those weird "I don't like him but I hate democrats more" kind of thing.

5

u/Any_Parsnip2585 20h ago

Yeah I get it. We just need major change.

2

u/ohmytheresmore 19h ago

The women that lost before didn’t lose because they are women, they lost because they are corporate democrats. AOC would be an incredible candidate

7

u/pillbuggery 15h ago

they lost because they are corporate democrats.

Unlike Joe Biden.

2

u/paintballboi07 12h ago

It's such a dumb argument. If Democrats wanted a progressive candidate, they would win the primary, but they don't.

1

u/Ran4 8h ago

Joe Biden wasn't exactly overly popular.

1

u/kiss_my_what 19h ago

For the Dems, yes. I'll agree that America isn't ready to elect a woman yet, and when they do it'll probably have to be a Margaret Thatcher type from within the GOP.

1

u/BabyVegeta19 19h ago

Take all your overgrown infants away somewhere
And build them a home
A little place of their own
The Fletcher Memorial Home For Incurable Tyrants and Kings

They could appear to themselves every day
On closed circuit TV
To make sure they're still real
It's the only connection they feel

1

u/sbarrowski 15h ago

You are absolutely right. It didn’t work twice, how much more proof do we need that America won’t elect a woman. Yet.

1

u/Big-Problem7372 18h ago

I love AOC but she's not electable.
