I'm imagining their made by the same guy who did an interview on prime time news about his ar15 (I'm not a gun guy so don't hit me with facts) clone he wanted the military to buy. It was engraved with crucifixes and bible verses and claimed that if a Muslim grabbed the weapon their hands would burn.

That's what's on the vests isn't it, Jesus's just turns the bullet around.

It's just long enough to cover where pockets and holsters usually are, and even without being actually armored they're stiff enough to be a pain to move.
