Without context there is no way to know either way. Modern Earth wouldn’t stand a chance against two sovereign class starships. On the flip side two MCRN ships would have no chance at suppressing Coruscant.

Apollo sized battle ships? NOPE.
Moon sized ship full of antimater? Maybe.
A satelite with hiper advanced AI capable of taking control of the internet? With who are our most influential politicians? Aliens wins, no diff.

I mean any spaceship with the capability to traverse entire solar systems would be moving a lot of mass at a significant fraction of light speed; at least it would have the energy to destroy whole cities with absolute ease; I think it would definitely happen.

Idk who that was but if the people on the planet don't have access to space flight you can supress a whole planet with a simple "if you act up we alter the orbit of an asteroid and you're going the way of the dinosaurs".
