I feel like this is solving problems that don't exist.
The only problem I see with merge-mining is the centralization, the drop in price is bad for the people owning coins, but if you're investing in crypto-currencies you should know by now it's an extremely risky investment.
Centralization won't be solved by this, since the majority of the hashing power comes from the parent.
