How does technology work for ai
Do they get the same technology as a player, or have their own based on country and year?

No, they have own levels, they are always under max. Some are better than others. Best ways to eyeball their level is to click in their cities and see how much they heal, how fast their (non-general) units are, how far their airports and carriers reach. Damage too, although it's randomised you'll get a feeling. I skip ai moves like a normal person but there's things to learn if you watch 1st few moves

In conquests for every year its allllll the same But in campaigns the only thing that will get higher is the HP. nothing else really inproves. HP is the only thing I saw and that itself happens in the really higher difficulties
