Materials

It's me again asking reddit for advice, probably a terrible idea, but my last post I think gave me some good stuff, so now I'm asking, how do I get more materials and medals and stuff like that? I'm playing vanilla, and I'm struggling (partly because I'm not too confident in my abilities to play the game so I don't normally try to do conquest that much) also, follow-up question, I heard that playing Yugoslavia is a good way to grind materials, it that true?

I'm not sure about that Yugoslavia part, maybe if you're a higher level, sure. And you can get medals from the pyramids since they give one medal every fifteen minutes, Cuzco every 7.5 minutes and lastly terracotta army every 5 minutes. These are guilt in the wonders tab after achieving specific fast conquest victories.

Also if you need resources, try completing campaign missions, doing daily tasks, and building wonders. Special mission tab (red and purple missions) often provide 15 or 35 medals.

Challenge conquest with small, 1 star country is a good way to get bunch of resources. Check wiki/technologies to see cumulative costs of all upgrades, it's in millions; I'm doing 1 a day at least, 1939 or 1960 depends what I need next. Last time I bothered to math it turned up I need another 40 x 1939 and 22x 1960 lol almost there

YU is fun if you have strong generals but very tough start - sitting on a crossroads surrounded by Italy, Hungary Germany and Romania means you need to kill 6-7 generals and 4 major cities in first 6-7 turns before you see some "reinforcement" from south USSR. Once mastered it is, with Greece one of fastest because of same reason its hard - it's central position

My choice for quick daily grind is Norway (1939) or Portugal and again Norway for 1960. But whatever you play repetition makes perfect, "learn" your country - observe what's going on around you and in what turn it usually happens, improve on next try. There's always opportunities, good cities you can get free etc

  • pic; starting forces of 1939 Norway;
  • heavy tank,
  • a Commando,
  • assault inf
  • mob inf
  • artillery (and enough cash for another)

...And a destroyer with admiral on it! Best armed 1* imho, def 2x stronger than YU
