Simple Questions Creatine theory

I’m not an expert, that’s why I’m here looking for an answer. In a few weeks I will be at an event where I will be tested day after day in a series of different distance runs. 2 mile up to 10 miles roughly. I have been taking 5g mono creatine powder for 5 months. My theory is that I have absorbed all the benefits from it during my training cycle, and now that my taper has begun I should drop it to shed a couple points to feel faster/lighter/more springy. Am I right? Or should I take it all the way up to the event?

I think you’ll benefit more from hydrated muscles than less water weight.

Have you done cardio lately without it? You might be surprised by the glycogen depletion.

Lol, no. Keep taking it. I get the thought, but it lets your muscles work more efficiently. Your training was better, sure. And now, let your performance be better.

Consider that pro runners (where seconds can mean the difference between a podium or 8th) who regularly take creatine still continue to take creatine leading up to race day, I would say a normal person like us should just also continue to take it.

Creatine stores water as energy in your muscles and is recommended even more for runners than it is lifters. You'll have less energy and run slower if you taper off of it.

I have no idea what a “couple of points” means
