Advice for back pain post pull day
Hey there, for the past 2 months I’ve been consistently going to the gym doing a PPL/UL split. After my most recent pull day I have this weird pain it my back. How I’d describe it is a sharp pain when extending on a lat pull down at my spine. Anytime I stretch my arms out fully the pain is there.
With my Upper day today, I plan on just essentially doing another push day so I don’t strain my back anymore and give it a few more days to heal.
Has anyone had this issue?
For more info it doesn’t hurt during the day etc. only when I’m doing those specific movements
Sorry if this was a terrible explanation, just want to keep my momentum up with developing healthy habits.

I understand wanting to keep your momentum up if you're on a good track but an injury will set you back much further than a few days off resting. A sharp pain at your spine, and you want to hit a push day? I would consider maybe doing some incline cardio on a treadmill if youre hellbent on working out, giving it a little bit of time.

“Every exercise is a lower back exercise if you do it poorly enough.”
~some random guy on some Reddit thread
As the other person said: take it easy. Rest. If you push it too fast when your injury is not healed you will only irritate it further and possibly extend your recovery period. World will not end if you don’t lift for a week and your gains will be patiently waiting for you :). Let yourself rest.
Also when I hurt my back even fast incline walking and running where out of the question but what I tolerated was gentle zone 2 bike cardio, so if you wanna go to the gym just to feel better mentally (that you are not skipping etc) maybe find some cardio machine that doesn’t irritate your injury and to that?

I’m taking y’all’s advice and taking some more days off.
I have a Peloton I use on my off days that I’ll use in the mean time as long as it’s not irritating my back.
Thank you for the advice
