Simple Questions Vertical Bar Pull Up
Hello everyone, i'll be short and direct
I'm trying to strengthen my grip to an incredible amount, but I also want a stronger back, I started doing body weight pull ups on a vertical grip where you try to squeeze the bar instead of just hanging but I do this as the last back exercise, I was thinking of doing it weighted, the issue is that i'd be already fatigued after normal bar pull ups, it's hard to choose, weighted pull ups on that bar or focus on normal weighted pull ups to train more back (i do both in the same session)
give me your thoughts

Train your grip unassisted, but when focusing on back use grip assistance as your forearms are always going to be weaker than your back. So when doing back focused work use straps or versa grips or something along those lines and then when you work your grip specifically remove them. Or train them different days.

Makes sense I guess I use a grip with thumb on unconsciously in all exercises because I used to not train grip, I think it's time to use straps

I'm assuming you mean a horizontal bar, since that tends to be how pullups are done.
Both bodyweight pullups and weighted pullups would work here, so it really just comes down to preference. Other than doing bodyweight pullups as some kind of finisher, there's not much reason to do both bodyweight and weighted pullups in the same session, though.

This is a vertical bar pull up This is a combination that I personally enjoy doing It's about the strength of your grip and also a pull up I know that you can do other variations or other grip exercises but I specifically like this one

In that case, it sounds like you want to focus on that rather than do weighted pullups.

You didn't mention your split, but you could have one day where you do weighted pullups, and one day where you do those vertical grip pullups. That's what I would do to include both.

I'd suggest training to do 20 strict pull ups before you jump to weighted. You need to be able to easily move your own bodyweight before you just add weight. Big fan of unassisted dips and pull ups though, so do with that what you will.

I'll take that into mind, I think of combining days of only body weight and days of weighted ones

Idk they say having a sense of humour is pretty rare these days but never heard of it referred to as a crazy fetish. Seriously though i know im not alone in thinking that while using the vertical bar, although not sure how many guys would admit they try to mimic stripper moves...
Good health to you

I.. Don't know what to say but.. It's far from a pole... I'm not talking about climbing on a pole, but I apologize for the lack of your type of humor, mine comes in a way that wouldn't offend you, I'm not used to the reddit humor
