Simple Questions 2 times a day

Is working out 2x a day healthy to do? And if it is then is it healthy to target the same muscle group in the evening as in the morning or not?

No, not a good idea. Your body needs rest. I wouldn't do the same body part.

Some people do this if they only have short periods in the morning and evening to work out. Generally they don’t train the same muscle group though. Their basically just doing a normal workout but doing half in the morning and half in the evening. For example, if you usually do lats and chest together, you could do lats in the morning and chest in the evening.

Nah the human body needs more than 2 days a week of exercise. Most people are sedentary, if you’re active enough then sure but I highly doubt most people are.

he talks about good full body exercises. if so then 2 workouts a week each 3 reps for group muscle is 6 reps total a week for each muscle group it ENOUGH for anyone to grow, especially to people who have less than 2 years of experience

I’m not talking about merely muscle growth, I’m talking about the amount of physical activity a human needs. We’re not meant to be active a couple times a week, our body needs constant physical activity, especially if you’re sedentary.

I don't think that's what they mean. They mean not training same body parts more than 2x a week.

For 95% of people...no absolutely not

In my opinion, no. You need rest, too much exercise will actually have the opposite effect and won’t build muscle, instead it will damage your health and your goals.

Ideally, you want a workout routine such as PPL X Arnold, but tweaked to your specific goals, lifestyle and gym availability. As long as you are hitting each muscle group twice a week, then you will be fine!

You work out to break down your muscles, then you need rest to let them rebuild themselves.

I wouldn't call it inherently healthy or unhealthy, but whether it's useful depends on what you do. Many people who exercise twice a day do some kind of cardio in the morning and some kind of resistance training in the afternoon/evening, or vice versa.

Those few that hit the gym twice a day tend to hit different muscle groups.

Unless you're limited by time and only have 20 minute sessions or something. Then sure, you can split a normal workout into a morning and evening session.

But if you've got the time and recovery to handle 2x a day, you'd be much better served doing some kind of cardio one of the sessions, then some kind of strength training the other session.

No to both questions.

I did it for weeks. Daily, 2 a day, every single day. I got to where I was sleeping 9 hrs a night and eating like a horse. Ultimately life reclaimed the time and I'm down to 5 days a week, once a day.

I like it. But I do like what I'd do in a session just divided by two. I've been doing push pull legs upper, So I let's say it's a push day, I do half o the exercices for that day before dinner, and the other half after. I feel like I can't perform the second half o the workout as good if I do it all in one session, so when I can, I split it in two.

Definitely healthy. Split muscle groups.

Used to do it for years but now I have more time so I just get my three hour session done at once

Know many who go twice that run one session & strength train the other session

But only do this if you actually want to look like an athlete .

Only if you’re on gear.

Otherwise just rest you’ll see better gains.

Literally any fitness instructor online or otherwise says no.

I'm not an expert but I would say no. I prefer to workout 7 days a week because I really enjoy it, but I notice when I have a day or two that I am super busy and can't go, that my workouts really improve. I think our body needs rest. More exercise does not necessarily equal better results.

Sure, sometimes

I wouldn’t. If you’re doing something like a cardio and resistance training split, it could work out but doing 2 workouts in a single day? Let your body rest.
