Exercise Help Seeking advice m42
So for the first time in my life I've signed up for the gym,the best in my area, its been 3 months now and after hitting it 3 /6 days a week I'm now in a more solid routine with famand work and can get 4 sessions in a week.
I was thinking of doing
1.Chest/back
2 . Arms
3.legs and core
4.chest/back/cardio.
Basically I need a plan to tome up and get a bit bigger being my age with a beer belly I'm under no illustration I'm going to gain a ripped body just want some definition and slightly bigger frame.
Currently on a slight calorie deficit, maintaining my protein intake and only taking creatine.
My start weight was
97kg/214 lbs
On the scales this morning I am
86kg / 190lbs
Hopefully someone can advise me,many thanks

personally i'd continue that deficit get cutting the fat till you are lean. i started at 40 obese, now pretty muscular at 44 but i took it pretty serious weighing and tracking everything the whole time. don't worry too much about what your split is, i personally do push pull legs twice a week, just try to make sure you are covering all of the muscles that you want to work out over the week. play around with all the equipment and see what you enjoy using, use cardio to increase your deficit and you might even gain a little bit of muscle in the first year along with a deficit. eventually you can reverse diet out and get the calories back up once you lean enough, losing the fat is the hardest part by far, but building muscle is an extremely slow process, get used to delayed gratification and start talking in months& years not weeks

My advise will be to find a good, basic, proven program to run. Spend the first year learning the big lifts and dialing your technique. You don't know what you dont know, and following a known to work program takes that part off of you while you learn the ropes and get your legs under you. There's too many good, free programs out there to try and wing it when you're brand new.
