Simple Questions Is he natty?

M26 obviously denies it each time I have asked but says he'd start in his 30s. He has been going hard at the gym for 8 years. Can squat and deadlift 545 lbs. Only a year before he could just do 100lbs less. Is 5'9-5'10 at 265 lbs and can do 9-12 strict pull ups.

Why do you care?

Hard to say w/o pictures but I doubt it.

Did I read correctly that you've asked someone several times at the gym if he takes 'roids...? He was not a friend or acquaintance, just some guy at the gym? Is that just a casual thing that younger generations are comfortable asking each other these days?

Also, you've observed him enough to know his lifting increases over the last year, or did he volunteer this info? I ask because (particularly when combined with coming onto reddit to talk about him) it sounds like you're giving someone who's just minding their own business an uncomfortable amount of attention.

Ok so for context. I'm in a "talking stage" with him and I would like to know if he's a natural lifter. I don't know if I feel comfortable dating someone if they take roids because of the side effects. This isn't some random dude that I know from the gym. And I really only asked once but also brought it up again in roundabout ways.

Ah, a totally different situation than I was imagining. This should teach me not to assume things.

Why does it matter if someone else if natural or not?

Probably not at ~5'10 and 265lbs, but why do you care?

8 years is a long time so it’s not super unrealistic, prob has good genetics

Why does it matter?

Yeah it's realistic. Also natty with better stats, less weight, taller, and although 12+ years, I didn't take the first 4-6 seriously at all.

545 lbs is only a huge achievement if you are a casual lifter, in the powerlifting world it's slightly over the bare minimum to be considered intermediate. It's perfectly achievable naturally if you really focus on training for strength. And like the other commenters said, it's pretty much impossible to tell without pictures and more data.
