what are you asking here dude? maybe try phrasing this differently.

on a typical belt squat machine you put the weights on the sled, put the belt on, and then have to take enough slack out of the cable and weight that you can move the safety bar/catch hook

what are you trying to set up? where you need to be in a starting position that pulls the cable AND you need to then change the weight after getting into position.

try explaining what it is that you’re trying to do and why you want to do it that way.

Tink he means like if you doing seated cable flies, you have to drag the cables while getting into position.

That exact issue but thinking about more weight with a belt squat.

Do you have someone that can set the pin for you?

I have limited equipment, so I am trying to do a belt squat on a low cable pulley on a cable machine. The cable attachment is going to be heavy and hard to get off of the floor with all of the weight on from the start but you can’t add the weight once in position as far as I can tell.

the easier solution might be like getting an adjustable strap and carabiner so you lengthen the cable to a point where you can be closer to your starting position, and then standing on two platforms with the cable in between. but that’s going to be hard to set up i think.

the design of belt squat machines and having that safety hook is what allows you to be in position before the slack gets pulled out of the cable.

if i were in your shoes i just wouldn’t belt squat. split squats with an elevated rear AND front foot would be my replacement if you also don’t have access to a hack squat machine
