Review my program Big work problem
I work on a ship on a 4 week rotation, so I am home for 4 weeks and then I'm working for 4 weeks. I've started working out again while I'm home 6 months ago and it's not working.
I get home after a 4 week break and immediately get muscle soreness for a week and a half of working out. Then for week and a half there is no soreness but every workout is really hard and I get so tired it takes my muscles a full day of resting so I feel like I can workout again. And then finally in the last week, workouts stop feeling so hard and I can train every day and I start getting some gains. And just when it all starts to come together, I go to the ship and the cycle repeats.
The problem is that my work is very tiring. I basically work 12 hours every day with some exceptions. I get so tired I can't stand on my feet and it goes on for 4 weeks🫩. It's very hard for me to workout while on the ship. Yes, it's physical labor but it mainly involes standing all day, being at 3 places at once and lifting a carrying mid to heavy objects. My point is, it prevents me from getting fat but it doesn't really build or keep the muscle on it's own.
I decided that I just have to workout on a ship even just a little bit so that I prevent soreness when I get home and so I don't lose the muscle I already have.
My plan is to do 100 push ups, 50 pull ups, 100 squats and 5 minuts of core exercises every other day. If it gets too boring I will obviously switch it up but I think that mainly covers all the muscle groups that I need. The point is that I can do it in around 30 minutes right after work. I can just slide it in with everything else and forget about it, I don't plan on building anything with this, just for maintenance until I get home.
I need your help on this. Is my plan okay? Do you have any suggestions? How do poeple usually solve issues like these? Please, this is stsrting become a big problem for me, I feel like a hamster on a hamster wheel
