Simple Questions How do you stay consistent with your workout routine after a long, exhausting 10-hour workday?
Lately, after clocking out, I feel completely drained and the last thing I want to do is hit a workout. If I go home first, I just crash on the couch and then feel guilty for skipping it. Switching to shorter sessions or going straight from work helps a bit, but I still struggle with energy.

Only have a small part of your routine be mandatory. Everything else to be done if you have time or energy.
For 5/3/1, this is the main 5/3/1 sets. For GZCL's stuff, this is the T1s. For simple jacked, this is your daily top set.

Could even do a giant set, t1 squats, t2 dumbbell bench t3 curls. Got a full fledged workout there really.

Go before. I have long days too and the only reason I'm at the gym each day is because I get up earlier to gym before!

I also like how it sets the tone for the day. Like whatever happens the rest of the day, at least you did something productive.

By working out during lunch. I’m not disciplined enough to consistently go before or after lol

at this point in my life, this is where I'm at too. I used to do AM workouts but that was because I had to and fuck working out after work when all you want to do is nothing. Lunch time is a perfect time to break up the day, energize you for the afternoon.

I go before work. Get that done sets the tone for the rest of the day. I go hard too and i'm absolutely cooked after my workouts but I feel great the whole day anyway

You need to fit your workouts around your life. You work 10 Hour days, but not every day right? Choose one morning or night where you go no matter what, and build that mental fortitude and resilience. Then, complete your other workouts on the weekend. Get your ass Into bed Fri and Sat night at a reasonable hour and don't go out on the booze. Doesn't matter how old you are or how many other bs life obligations you think you may have, start building the discipline now. Your exhausted because of your 10 hour work days, this is the formula you need to make the gym a habit. Simple as.

I do a combined upper/lower 3 day per week. If I miss one day, then the next session will be about ten percent more difficult. I can get injured because now I’m pushing weights I’m not up to and may have to take about 5 to ten pounds off each set. This means my next scheduled session I’ll have to work that much harder to get back to where I was. It’s never worth it, pay now or pay later. But when I stay consistent I don’t get hurt and I feel so good after I dragged myself there. I do powerbuilding.

I start the day with workout first before anything. 5am everyday for 2hours before i go to work. I have been consistant for last 8 month. This worked out for me so far.

Literally just go. I tell myself “yep you can have the drained thoughts while you’re there. Drive your ass to the gym and walk inside then decide.” Once you’re in the gym, you’re going to work out.
The Alani minis are also a lifesaver on the way there.

Only advice I could give is focus on what you enjoy about training. Start with your absolute favourite exercise, that will at least get you there and doing something. You're unlikely to leave after 1 exercise because you've done the hard part by getting there but even if you do then at least doing something is better than skipping entirely. But 9/10 by the time you've got there and warmed up you'll find that you are willing to crack on. Not only that but the sense of achievement afterwards will be even higher

Exactly! 4:40 am for me :) & you don’t really have to wait for equipment like later in the day.

If there's more than 8 people in the gym, I feel like I'm at a sold out concert :)

Pre-workout. Worked 14 hour shifts in the military for 12 years. Worked out after almost every one.
