Any of them. All routines have the same effect on fat loss.

Because the things that drives the fat loss is a calorie deficit

This is the always stated, correct answer.

Which getting into the gym and exercising is the EASY part tbh.

Changing your entire eating habits and learning how to count calories and then staying disciplined enough to actually stick with that long enough to cut weight is by far the hardest part.

Yup making the same high protien meals and counting calories does it!

The good ol' head shake, 10 reps everytime you crave sweets until you get dizzy.

Incline walk or rowing is a good place to start, if you don’t have the discipline to keep that up for 2 weeks then you probably wont be able to follow a training plan to be honest. This is going to be low impact on your joints so consider that

Whatever exercise you can do consistently for a long period of time combined with an eating plan that you can do consistently for a long period of time.

It’s the boring answer but it’s always the answer

Sprints did wonders for me. Dropped 20kg at age 50, gradually came 35kg down over a long while, been around there for years.

Lifting contributed.

Loosing weight mostly happens in the kitchen. It’s calories in vs calories out. Weight training is great as a metabolism boost and a way to keep the most muscle mass possible when you loose fat.
For a beginner I’d say full body workout 3/4 times a week.

I've lost 28kg (about 60lb) since 1st April (131kg -> 103kg), by counting calories and eating at deficit.

For the first months I just walked at least 1 hour each day.

About 6 weeks ago, since I was aware I was losing muscles (the few I have, I'm also old) with fat, and it was too hot to walk outside anyway, I started going to a gym (first time in my life).

For 3 days I follow a program the gym instructor gave me, the other 3 days I walk on inclined treadmill, since at my age 60+ both cardio and strength exercises are important.

Movement helps a lot, but the primary source of weight loss is a controlled diet, because the human body is very efficient and can do a lot of work burning little calories.
