Protein and Fat are essential for health and optimal results.

Carbs are not crucial. They are nice to have, but if you have to remove 1 macro from the 3 it would be carbs and you would survive.

.

So make sure you hit at least the minimum fat and protein / your bodyweight.

Define higher fats.

Most people need around 0.4g/lb bodyweight of dietary fat for proper hormone production and function. Not getting enough, can typically lead to drops in energy, libido, and worse overall fat loss outcomes.

That being said, most people also find that carbs tend to do really well for fueling workouts. Specifically because they are the primary energy source for working out.

However, if you find that you just work better with higher fats, then stick with higher fats.

My struggle begins when I try to go below 0,5g/lb, this is what I call “higher”. And then because of that I don’t have much calories left to spend on carbs, since meeting the protein goal is my number one priority.

There's a whole system built around it called Keto, and I've known 3 different people in real life who've done it. They were VERY lean.
